If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey all,

Been restoring this bike,
Just wondering if I will be okay to use hose clamps made for radiator hoses on the intake manifold boots?
Sure I could order the OEM ones from bikebandit that perfectly are wide enough to fit the groove, but I wondered if it would make a difference, or even be better to use the ones you find at autozone, pepboys etc. since they may tighten up better (OEM ones use a simpler screw I think).
The only real difference is that they are a tad wider and would cover more area on the boot than the groove has room for. My buddy says it would mess up the boots over the long term.

I would go with the ones that are made for it rather than trying to use regular hose clamps. You won't get the pressure in the right place and may up destroying the boot in the process.

What he said..and youll notice the area molded for the OEM clamps isnt the same thickness as the rest of the intake manifold..which is where they are designed to squeeze and supply a proper seal.

Yeah I just placed the order for the OEM ones. Went and got new ones for the connection to the airbox too just because why not.

Idk, the ones that were on the bike were just such trash I couldnt imagine them holding any kind of seal, let alone a vacuum seal. I guess maybe the holes for the screws were just stripped? Hopefully whatever bikebandit sends me will be better....?

Make sure you replace the boots, too. The clamps don't stretch; the boots shrink over the years.

Also make sure you don't order from Bike BANDIT. :-k

That is Suzuki part number 09402-50306

BANDIT has their own part number (EVERYBODY else uses Suzuki numbers), which is 1030698

BANDIT sells it for $3.71.

Parts Outlaw (yeah the names are too similar for comfort ) will sell you that same part for $2.90.

Pricing difference is similar on most items.

Then, if you enter the word "BANG" in the promo code on checkout, shipping will either be free or GREATLY reduced. I think it was $1 on my last order.

.

Already ordered from Bike Bandit.
Why the hate on bike bandit? They seem to have a great stock, and I've used them in the past, shipping is the only thing I find weird. Took them 3 business days to put my oil filter in the mail, then it came in 2.
Also I have already replaced the boots with OEM & Indian Head Gasket Sealer.
