A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

are there supposed to be hoses underneath my bike? are there breather hoses? do i need to look anything up? j/w?

Those should be carb overflow hoses. And they are suppose to be there.

Hi,

There are drain hoses for the battery and the fuel gauge send unit (on the bottom of the gas tank). There are 2 vent hoses for your carbs that should be draped over the airbox. Check my website for pictures and guides like "Where do these hoses go?"

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Carb overflow hoses only exist on the VM carbs, which your bike does not have.
However, as BassCliff mentioned, you should have a battery vent hose and the fuel gauge sending unit safety drain hose.

And please pardon my ignorance ... what does "j/w" mean?
Some of us old guys are not into all the texting shortcuts and just don't know all the lingo.
We are not paying for messages by the letter, so it makes no sense to me to use the cryptic notation. :o

.

hey steve,

that "lingo" there means just wondering. Myself being a teen, it can be second nature to just ramble and scribble some random letters.

Steve, LG put this out partly as a joke, but I've found it invaluable. Use with caution, overuse will have you sounding hip or trendy.

Enjoy!

Edit: Tested "j/w" - "jw" also works for the same result. :) NBFAB, ay?

Thanks for the explaination. I vaguely remember beeing a teen. :-\\\
My older son has not been a teen for several years, the younger son is in his last year as a teenager.

Thanks, I will have to bookmark that for future reference.

I fully understand the need/desire to use shortcuts when texting, as it simply uses fewer keystrokes, making it quicker. It also has the added advantage of being a "secret code" to keep us old fogies in the dark. However, I also understand and fully support the need for effective communication. There have been a couple of polls on this board asking about our ages. I found it amusing that many (most?) of us are probably old enough that we might have had these bikes as young adults. Therefore, we also probably don't have a clue what many of the texting shortcuts mean. :o

the airbox has one drain house underneath it. One end is flared open and this end fits onto he nipple of the box. The other end is a smaller diameter.

Oops, I forgot about that one. Thanks Mr. tas850G!
