There are always lots of questions about CV carbs. How the "choke" really works, the pilot circuit, and the interaction between the slide and the butterfly valve can be confusing. I recently found this site: http://www.drpiston.com/Cvcarbs.html
which gives a very good explanation of the CV carbs and the interactions between all the various circuits and how the CV operation was able to remove the stumble that I hated about my 78 750E carbs.
I hope this helps someone here achieve a better understanding of our CV carbs.
