I Don't Know What The Story Is . But It's Got To Be A Good One .

That is one strong bar and mount. The bike is way the end of the lever arm exerting maximum downward pressure, but the bar does not appear at all bent or folded.

The bike appears undamaged. I doubt it will remain so. I think the trip down will be a lot more painful than the ride up there. 🥶

It's a weird one . If the collision caused the bike to go airborne { and I mean seriously airborne } why aren't the forks and wheel bent ?

Yes, that bike got some serious air. I am wondering at what point in it's arc it parted with the rider. Would love to see a dash cam video of it happening.

We might be able to make a more educated guess if we could see the car involved and the location of its damage.

Another photo that shows a car that may have been involved...

This a still from a news report. It looks like the car was turning left, the bike hit the right front corner and launched off the hood and windshield.

I'm surprised I have haven't seen in any videos of them getting the bike down yet.

It looks to me like the front wheel of the bike had to be off the ground at impact. There is no noticeable damage below the headlight on the car and as Garth mentioned no bent wheel or forks on the bike.

But that is the exact opposite of what you would expect. If the rider did have time to react at all he almost certainly would have been heavy breaking which would have transferred strong downforce to the front wheel, not lift it in the air.

I had this same kind of accident back in the 70's. A Dodge Polara did a left turn on me going through an intersection. I did not have time to react (no turn signal or other indication). But the bike stayed embedded in the grill and I was the one that took air. Actually I held onto the grips and did an ass over tea kettle somersault onto the hood of the car. Both the front wheel and the front forks of the bike were decidedly bent.

Could it possibly be that the rider just happened to be doing a high speed wheelie at the same time a driver happened to turn left in front of him? Sounds totally bonkers but I can't come up with anything else that would fit the physical evidence. Anyone?

Where's the NTSB when you need them?

Escape velocity!

I bet if he tried that three more times it wouldn't end up on the pole that way. 🤔

Video is quite uhhhhh confusing?. Paused & started it by the second a bunch of times First bike sees car, gets on front brake, rear wheel 2' up in the air, stops 20' before gets to car. Doesn't show 2nd bike coming from nowhere, it's just automatically crashing into the car, throws 2nd rider across car & down the st. 50 or 60 ft., bike goes up & swinging on pole, all while first bike still at same spot. cars coming through intersection, nobody stopping to help or even look, and first bike still there, back wheel still up in the air a long time after wreck was over... May be normal but sure looks ??????? to me.

There's only one bike ..... They left the brake stand in to show how it flipped over on to the hood of the car and then somehow making it's way upward . Which does explain why there is no damage to the forks or front wheel ......

DO WHAT??? Could anybody think a still picture would show how the bike hit the car better than a full video? That'd be kind'f hard to believe, and that many cars sitting there but nobody getting out to help or even look, nobody got out of any of the cars. Where's the rest of the video, Nothing from when the rider quit sliding and the bike swinging a couple of times, Nothing else for a long time then just a couple of police cars just sitting there doing nothing... Wouldn't you think the video would show somebody checking on the rider? I'd think would be video of folks standing, looking up, & pointing at that bike dangling on the pole, maybe an ambulance? That video is appx. 1 1/2 min, it showed the same thing 3 times in that 1 1/2 min. If that was real wouldn't we think there should have been more than 30 seconds of excitement to show us on the video?... Forgive me for being skeptical.

Yeah ..... BCTV News, CBC News, City News, and Global News, all got together and hired a crane to put a bike up on a traffic light .... Then they hired some guy and beat the snot out of him to simulate traffic accident injuries.....

This isn't rocket science . Because the video happens fast they froze a still of the bike doing a brake stand just before it somersault's on to the car upside down . It must have impacted in such a way to propel it upward. By seeing the bike frozen in a brake stand just before it launches, the viewer can understand what happened .... If you run the video on Youtube there is a little box at the bottom right hand corner where you can adjust the speed and see it in slow motion. The bike does a front brake stand just before impact flipping over and landing on it's backside on the hood of the car .... Where it either bounces or slides up the windshield to it's hanging position . Even in slow motion it's fast suggesting he was likely speeding .......The rider goes over the car without touching it which likely accounts for why he's alive ..... He's airborne over the car so his injuries will be impact with the road not the car ......

Dang'it don't get me wrong, I'm sure not asking anybody to be as skeptical as me. But those news channels you put in there didn't take any of the videos, if they had they'd have and shown videos of people getting out of their cars to assist the rider, police cars speeding in, ambulances, folks walking around, looking, and pointing up at the bike, but none of that is there. No, those news channels didn't hire a crane, they all just showed a video that was handed to them by somebody else. I had no clue they could freeze the motion of a bike standing on it's front wheel, centered in a video, while everything else in the video kept moving as normal. that's amazing... Wonder if those folks or the new AI folks could take a picture of a motorcycle, from someplace else, and make it look like it was hanging on a light pole? That'd be amazing too, wouldn't it?... Like said, not say'in it didn't happen, but sure seems to be quite a bit of stuff we're not see'in.

It's sort of similar to what happened to you Don. Except this guy got the front end stopped before hitting the vehicle ..... He just didn't get the back end stopped .....,.
