A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Is this a 2 step for launch mode?

Marvelous... next one, maybe rev limiter?

Thanks in advance
Curt

Yes that is a module that plugs in to the MSD box. Instead of swapping out pills you can dial in your rev limiter by twisting the knob.

That is the MSD part 8673 7.6k to 9.8k

O.K. thanks... The last pics are more complicated and I will have to read up on the all clutch system... But if you guys want to give the readers digest version, why not.

Air shifter... Typically all provisions are left in place for normal operation. Clutch, cable and foot shifter... The air shifter cylinder is connected to the shift linkage. when you want to use the air shifter you just push the button. The box will cut the engine for a split second, up shift then resume the engine. It happens extremely quick so it just sounds like a seamless change.

Not sure all what you wanted to know about it.

Oh you will still have to use the clutch to launch.

I thought that there was a type of clutch release using air pressure... I could be wrong... Lets see if anyone else is bored and watching this thread. Thanks for the info...

Aint not thang

Dance by me close - tell 'em all to go
One's for the money - but I'm through with the show
Move with me gently, oh so slow
Hold me and maybe we'll never let go, never let go
I'm through with sneakin' - been cutting it close
Through with the two-step, where the rhythm is law
Through with the two-step, where the rhythm is law
Oh, yes, it's love in any key
You opened up the door - now I know it's got to be

Now my cards on the table - hands on the deck
Now A is for able - no words - pause for breath
My willing baby, now can't you see
Little girl, it's not for me
So you waltzed into my life - one two three
Warmed up your smile - oh let it please be me, please let it be me
You swish and swirl - oh, swing and sway
Stay till the sun comes, and don't go away --

I see only 1 button in your pictures

I see only 1 button in your pictures

The DYNA DRL 400 is a very important addition to a "S" ignition for over rev protection- even if you do not use the 2 step feature.

lo limit setting is the 2step rpm cutout speed -it takes over when the purple and red wires are connected. the upper and lower setting are marked on the left dial scale - pic shows it is set at 9500

hi setting is the overrevving hi side rpm cutout --it is always working when the unit is on -- set the hi linit side no higher than 10,000 (shift at 9000)or 10,500 (shifting at 10K)-- it will start to kill the ignition and save the engine-if you miss a shift or while in the water box doing the burn out. A "dyna S" ignition alone will rev to the moon uncontrollably

I am guessing the MSD dial controls your shift light / shifting event-- hooked directly to the coils for a signal I presume -- should also be to a shift light or a air solenoid thru a on/off switch (automatic).. I like manual button shifting because spinning the rear tire and hitting the shift RPM will have it shifting when it shouldn't. I do not see a second button for shifting -- is it there? or is the MSD hooked to a air solenoid?

You have a standard relay and a electric air valve solenoid connected to the 2 step launch button circuit to control the clutch lever release.

Pull in the clutch lever- push the button -let go of the clutch lever while holding the button AND throttle wide open.

the clutch lever will release when you release the 2 step / launch button.

however I do not see the shifter button -- it may be set up for AUTO shifting directly off of the MSD unit. Just remember to turn the shifter on after doing the burn out AND the control unit has to be set lower than the launch RPM. -in the pictures it is set to shift gears while you are on the 2step.. (9500 launch and 9000 shift)

no worries belucci I'll get you acquainted with the operation - or change it to your fit your style. your calls/visits are always welcome

I knew I could count on you... now,I have to get the negotiating on schedule...

I got to see my motor in pieces today... The pistons have come back from MTC for the ring groove being recut for the new style rings. We also have wilder cams and new springs along with a new cam chain and guides. I was in bike porn heaven. It should be together in a couple of weeks...Everything else was fine. The cams will be retimed for track only if I get the other frame... Can you tell I am getting excited...
Curt

That is an air clutch setup. It is so you can use a delay box & use a button to let the clutch go. It has nothing to do with the air shifter.

Well guys, so much for that bike. Someone else beat me to it... so we start over...
Curt

I know, I have plenty of time... The other motor will fit right back in the frame it came from...

i run the same 2 step with my air or air set up. never had any trouble.

Sprout,
I had a feeling someone else was looking at it. I was planning big things for it. Lets hope something else shows up. There is a car tire for sale that needs motor work, but it will go for more than $4000.00...
