    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ignition & coils recommendation 1100ez

i'd like to hear what anyone recommends for new coils and igntion for an '82 1100ez

if anyone has already doen this i'd appreciate hearing what they used and how things worked out

I found Dyna S ignition and 3 Ohm (green) coils for about $100. Got em on dragbikeparts.com I think. I think they had been sitting around somebody's shop for a while. I had to make little brackets for the coils but I'm happy so far.
 
Dyna's are great, you can also use late model coils also from a Bandit or similar engine. For the ign Dyna is also the choice

If you ever get a chance, would you post a photo of the bracket you made. Ive never been satisfied with the fit i have for my dyna coils. ---Yes they seem to work fine also. 3 ohm green

Heya, I'm new here, but have a quick question about the coils. Would these sam 3ohm coils from Dyna work on a 1980 GS750E? I'm looking for new ones to replace the stock coils, but can find no tech info on which ones will work. I assume they will since there's not much difference between th4 750s and the 1100s, but I need to make sure. Thanks. :)
 
3 ohm coils will work. The main issue is whether you have to replace the leads to get the right length, and fitting them to the brackets. Electrically they are ok.

BTW, are the 3 ohm ones the ONLY ones that'll work, or will 2.5 ohm coils work as well? I know I've seen different ohm ratings on different coils, but I have no idea where to find the info I need to know what'll work on my bike. Thanks.
 
My Suzuki service manual says any resistance reading between 2 and 5 ohms is within service limits. Commonly, you will find the coils to be between 3 and 4 ohms.
