    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello to all!!!

So after crashing my first bike (1980 GS1000 G, "The Black Bandit") a couple of months ago, Bill (chef1366) is helping me build (or rather, I'm helping HIM build) my new bike! So without further ado, I introduce Pandora:

It has a long way to go, but it'll be awesome once it's done... I'm also planning on eventually upgrading the suspension to a 90's GSXR suspension (and brakes), so this thread will be here for a while. But in any case, there you have it! More pics to come... :D

83 GS1100 ED engine in an 84 GS1150E
Changed clutch basket (thanks blowerbike), clutch gasket, pan gasket, stator cover gasket, installed rebuilt starter with new o-ring, installed 83 cams, good rockers, timed, installed 83 ignition (will wire into 1150) and cam cover gasket. It was engine day. Tomorrow button up frame and install front calipers, brake lines, front master cylinder, headlight ears, headlight bucket and gel grips.
Yesterday I put the center stand on it and rebuilt the rear master cylinder.

1150 trigger and rotor will plug and play to an 1150 ignitor.
you have one or any of those grasshoppa?

damnit man.
i found a tool kit and tray today..didn't even know i had them :)

Almost ready to fire up.
Had to change the shift shaft and sprocket cover to go in the 1150 frame. (Thanks Terry!)
Sorted out the electrical and the only thing left is to solder in the stator wires to the R/R.
Installed engine but still have to do the carbs (jet kit and o-rings) and install a nice stock 1150 pipe. (Thanks Kris V)
New tires, oil, filter and K&N pods (Thanks Gordon)
oh and bleed brakes and snug everything up.
eBay is your friend when building these old bikes!
