A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

isn't this funny?

I like the way he keeps pumping the throttle to add gas as if it had an acellerator pump.

Also a very good example of poor starting technique. When using the 'choke' knob or lever to start the bike, do NOT move the throttle.

You get a better sense of his mechanical aptitude in part 2.
Personally, I would not let him touch any of my machines, let alone start one.

.

Is that a K Car he's got lifted up in the back?

Looks like it's been there for 5 years

Listen to his narration. It's a Shelby Zed spec K Car with 230 or 240 horsepower. "Great sleeper car."

.
From the looks of things and the fact he states he cleaned the carbs on the 850 I'd say most of the vehicles he has end up going to sleep.

Yeah, it ran great until it blew up!

I like all the junk he has - he must have a hundred broken AC units piled up there. And about a dozen broken cars that you can see.

Sorry, 850, if he was closer I'd come out and rescue you!!!

How the *!%# does torching your spark plugs qualify as cleaning them?!?!?! And what good is it going to do if they are no good? After all, the genious mechanic did say they were "probably shorted". Just go down to the parts store and buy a new set for like $6 (not sure what the conversion rate is, but it can't be much different in Canuk money).

Taking a torch to fouled spark plugs and O2 sensors works great so long as you're running a decent flame and don't melt the electrodes. You'll never have as good a part as you did when it was new, but it will take soot off and allow it to actually work again.

I had to do it often when my TL was fouling plugs left and right. $12 a plug gets expensive really fast.

I concur on the general consensus about this gentleman, though...like the "K" car in the back. That's not a Shelby...though it may have a Shelby drivetrain. Either way, I'd bet a good dollar it doesn't make any horsepower at all.

Its always beer thirty at Davids Farm. Torturing that 850 is like having Sunday morning coffee up there. Have you ever seen his Red neck Roller coaster ?
I kept waiting for the GS brothers in their thongs to show up.

I'd like to see the redneck roller coaster. :D

The real tragedy is that he calls it a F_ _ king piece of S_ _ T, what did he expect without new o-rings, gaskets, plugs, and one serious valve adjustment?????

That bike wasn't running- it was screaming to be put out of it's misery.

Good video on how NOT to get your GS running after prolonged storage, should be a sticky for newbies!

my favorite quote was "after I chiseled the needles free" owch, poor bike, i had had bikes sit longer then that and after a real carb clean air box and filter on, new plugs and oil it fires right up. poor bike indeed.

The sad part is, Dave is about an hour away from me. :-k I've driven through Lucan a few times in my day. I'll have to steer clear if I'm ever on the GS out there.

He's quite the redneck and deals mostly in scrap. Those cars are stuff he gets for free or next to it, has fun destroying, then sells for scrap. He turns a tidy profit as well. I think most of it goes back into beer.......

In one video he was talking about blowing up that POS bike. I never found the video of him doing it. For someone who seems to understand a fair bit about how engines work (watch some more of his videos) he sure didn't want to spend any time on that poor little GS. Too bad, it wasn't even in too bad of shape. :(

He's kinda funny in a demented sort of way. Eerything he has is a POS so he's at least based somewhat in reality. Do I detect a TV series? LOL

Looks like the kind of place Paris Hilton used to take her so-called reality show.
