    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Sounds and looks GREAT !!! Let me know how you like those flat slides. I love how easy they are to tune but that throttle spring is a killer.

The throttle spring isn't to bad on these relatively speaking. The manual says the tension is adjustable. I have not tried doing that yet.
 
That is the sound of love :) I have one question. That " tack tack tack " in there...what is it? I have the same sound in my motor, and think its my cam chain tensionor based off the screwdriver as a stethascope technique, as thats where it seems to be coming from. Im guessing its a common GS motor trait now as there are a number of them ive heard it from.

Seriously tho man that sounds amazing and looks just as good. You should be proud :) Comin to the Red River Rally with it?? lol
 
The tack tack sound is slide rattle on the carbs. It is a charactersitic of Mikuni RS Flatslide carbs. At certain load and throttle positions they will really tune up. A beautiful sounding quartet! I put them on last summer. I'm glad I had a chance to ride the bike first with the old carbs before I put the RS's on. That way I knew the motor wasn't making all that racket.
Iv'e actually heard "hey Mr, your bike is making a bad noise" My buddy who rides a dry clutch Ducati hears the same thing LOL.

I have a cousin that also rides the Ducks with dry clutches and the acrylic covers...the first time I heard one, it was my "words of wisdom", that he had a broken clutch spring or two. :oops:

Awesome looking / sounding bike to me...you've done wonders to it. I'm starting to favor the sound of the 4-1 exhaust (on a well built bike). :-D

I think its the flatside carbs as ive heard them do that. Hope to hear how much power it makes as mine is simular engine setup and want to compare. Nice bike.
