    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It's coming along!!!

[Well I'm back with good news on my bike... The engine work has all now been done and she runs like a dream..So now I'm close to finishing! All that's left to do is properly mount the seat and paint it and I'm done! I'm posting a picture on here but it is not the most recent one as it doesn't show my side mount license plate/taillight on it. My computer seems to be somewhat tempermental with the gs site lol. Tell me what you think!

Congratulations on getting your bike finished. Its great to finally get a project on the road.

how do you plan to ride w/ a girl on the back with that little seat???

jk, looks great

looks great

looks great

Hey this seat set-up looks great. I've been trying to decide whether or not to start hacking my 550t seat/frame to just be a one-seater. I like the look. I do worry about the occasional passenger, but usually I'm riding alone anyway.

p.s. I'm going to put the words SEAT RESTORATION in here, just in case someone does a search. They may want to look at this seat set up.

that is one great looking bike.love the mirrors.glad to see you used a back fender.i had a custom sissbar made for mine yesterday.actually it was a modification of the stock one,but it looks great.

Lassie come home

Lassie come home

This is an amazing thread, just like one of those lassie films. Reading from the begining I've come over all emotional. Girl meets bike, girl likes bike and thanks the GSrs for the introduction. Bike goes to bed for the winter and wakes up sick, mean doctors say bike needs lots of work and MONEY. Friendly GSrs offer help help, send parts and encouragement. Finally pic fo bike looking well and cool posted...it brings a tear to a grown man's eye. \\:D/

nice bike!

That is SO cool and unique! Awesome job thinking "outside the bun".

FYI: PLEASE tell us you are going to have some type of muffler on your bike, If you run "open" drag style pipes, you WILL burn your exhaust valves. Mufflers create backpressure pulses that actually cool your exhaust valves.
