A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

IT'S DONE! FINALLY. NimRod

I like it and the phone support. You really trust it up there though and how are you keeping power to it?

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Love the finished version......what did you finally use for instrument cluster? Photos of bar region?

Thanks for all the comments. Yes that is a Sprint Evo mobile phone running the "Speed Pro" app. It works great. It has everything from GPS, speedo, odometer, average speeds, distance traveled and 0-60 times. I plan to wire in a 12v charging system. Phone holder is great and it's not going anywhere. I eventually will do something alittle more low profile for the phone mount.

Here is a pic with the bum stop off. I should add pods to it for the look. I'm getting carbs synced tuesday at a shop.

Still need to add black wire mesh over headlight glass, might paint forks black too.

"looks like a iphone for gauges"

There's an app for that?

there is many dyno apps that use gps to track your speed in combination with your g.s to also give you a fairly accurate rpm. i use one in my pickup since my speedometer is broke.

I wanna know how you wire the charging and also where did you get the mount and where did you mount the phone holder. I'll probably end up using this on my G2

.

If ya dont mind me asking, what does a shop charge to have the carbs sync'd nowadays?

Around here its just the labor rate for the time it takes.

Awall if you end up mounting a 12v cig lighter adapter you should get a splitter and use a radar detector too :D

HAha. Might need a radar detector!

The local yamaha shop quoted 1/2 hour to sync with the professional syncing tool (forget what it's called). Was like $39.00 didn't think that was bad.

I bought the phone holder from advanced auto. It is one of the ones that clamps the phone in tight, and is on a bendable rod with a suction cup on the end to attach to your car windshield. I cut the cup off, capped the end and bent it to attach to triple tree. Currently it only needs a few hidden zip ties. It works great...just want a les bulky mount in the future. No vibration issues...and I added a non-glare screen protector. I'm thinking of using a plastic belt type holder and fabbing it to bolt to the exposed handle bar mounts. It would sit lower.

I'm one for hardwiring...so I will be taking apart a cigarette lighter charger and wiring it into the fuse box.

Here is a closer pic.

Btw..I also use "Car Home" which has programmable quick access buttons that I have set up for navigation, weather radar, speed pro, just about anything you want at a push of a button.
