DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Jet size help.

I thought of doing that, but did this, instead,

Mikuni jets

It appears that the jets in the link from Bike Bandit are $12.15. Not sure if that's each or for a set of four. Either way, that's far too expensive.
While I was waiting for my computer to boot up, I opened the package that came from Z1 today (my link above). Seems that their jets are only $1.20 each.
Yep, that's right, I can get TEN jets from Z1 for the price of ONE from Bike Bandit.
The price of four jets and $4.95 shipping is still cheaper than one jet from BB.
(by the way, I ended up getting 122.5, hope they work OK. :o)

Sorry to sink your ship but that is for four I actually called them to make sure. but your buy is still less.

And wow thanks for the link I will get my jets from there now!!!

Oh and do ya think my bike may run best if I were to put the stock pilot jets(which I have) back in? The guy said he had a hard time keeping it running before he just left it.

My ship is still floating. The catalog listing is just not informative enough. :(
Nice to see that the price is not for EACH, but yeah, it's still more. :o

If you go back and look at what I had mentioned in my first couple of posts, my son's '81 850G has stock airbox and a 4-into-1 pipe (of unknown manufacturer). We don't have the bike legally registered and insured yet, but we did stick some current plates on it and take it for a ride back in October. Except for a little stuttering at idle, which might just be cured by fine-tuning the mixture screws, it runs very nicely with stock pilot jets and 120 mains. We have not done any testing or adjusting since then, nor have we done plug chops, but it feels real good on the road.

With your current setup (which is similar to ours), your 122 mains should be fine, especially if your pipe is a little more 'open' than ours, which is well, baffled and silenced. My guess is that stock pilots would work well, too. If you go with pods, the mains will have to be upped to 125 or more, and your 47 pilots might work, too. Just guessing, as I have not had to re-jet to that extent, yet.

hey that link you sent me, could you post a link to just the list of jets? cause I can only see the one jet you posted the 120 so if there is any way you could just post the page before that one would be great. I looked at z1 and couldnt find that page.

Oh and the Bike looks really nice!!

Thanks

JAke

For the benefit of everyone else that might be looking for jets, go to the Z1 site, go to their little search window and type in "Mikuni jets".

This link is where you will end up.

Nice idea steve

Yeah I titled the thread so that people who search could easily find good answers.
