    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

K&N pod Filters ...install.....

Hey guys. So I got the pod filters today and was eyeballin my bike at where they will go. I was thinking about leaving the OE air filter housing, removing the air filter and cage then using it as a storage area for like a small bag of tools. I would just seal up the part that goes to the airbox. It does not look like it would interfere with the pods at all, plus I wouldnt have to mess with all the things that bolt to the housing. I have seen pods on bikes and they usually have the entire air filter/box assembly removed but thought it might be cool to have some storage. Am I thinking about this the wrong way?

Any thoughts???

yes it will work as long as you have room to fit the filters, on my 550, i mean Le Mangos 550 the box that use to house the filter is now tool box.
 
Did the same thing on the old 1000L, used a rubber plumbing cap to close up housing.

thanks guys, thats what I was hoping to hear. I got a buddy of mine driving down from Va for the weekend, so hopefully if the zuk is all back together we can take the bikes out for a ride sat or sun.:D
 
So the motor is complete and all hooked up. I sealed off the air filter housing and put the carbs in with the pods on them and they fit no problem. I am just waiting on my jet kit to show up now. I got a call from Verne at JC Motors today and he said they got it in and it was going out today USPS Priority mail. Supposed to be 2-3 days... today is wed, So I should have it by Saturday.....I hope..........if not I will give the biggest and badest NEGATIVE rating ever seen on ebay.:eek:
 
YAY, the dynojet showed up today!!! So now I can work on getting it done tomorrow. Came with no instuctions...which is just great. I guess I will have to go and download them from dynojet.

So as far as JC Motors are concerned, I consider this a no harm no foul. Ya they jerked me around and lied about having it in stock. BUT, I told him I had to have it by the 20th, and I do, so YAY.:D
 
Or you could sell that airbox to one of the many die-hard all original fans on this site and put the tools in your backpack. The sale of the original box would probably cover your pods.

Hmmm, thats an idea....

I do have a bunch of 650 parts that I should probably sell to get back some of the money it took to build the bike. The air box even has brand new boots that I got from the dealer, the ones that go to the intake side of the carbs and the one that goes to the air filter housing, with all new clamps even. At the moment the woman is bugging me about selling the extra 4 into 1 Marshall I bought. I will probably have to cave on that eventually, but its so shiny and purdy....... sitting in the box.lol

I had thought about making another carb set-up like mine with everything powdercoated and rebuilt....I wonder what I could sell a carb set like that for?

OK, starting to get the itch to go to the shop and work on the jet kit, but I got a friend coming into town tonight and he wanted to be involved with the project tomorrow........maybe I just need to put the jet kit out of sight.
 
All done with the dynojet and pods. Thanks to everyone who gave their input or showed an intrest!!
Now I just gotta get it tuned and what not.....tomorrow...oh yeah and a good cleaning!!

yeah i dont think my stock airbox will fit back on my 850 i could try it out though since i list some chrome without it on
 
Hey guys, thanks!!:D........now lets how well it runs. Off to the shop with my buddy to get er dialed in and what not. It will also be the first start since the re-rebuild. This time there is no chance of the con rod nuts not being torqued properly. Will post my results later tonight.

Ok so the bike is all dialed in as far as the color tune and the carbtune are concerned. The bikes starts and idles nice, but have not been able to see the improvement in the top end becuse the motor is still too fresh. Will try to put some more miles on it tomorrow to get me closer to the break in point. Since the original rebuild I only got like 500 miles on it, so still got awhile before I can zing it.
 
Sweeeeeeeet. Congrats! Can't wait to hear of your results once you get her broken in properly. Oh yeah and clean that filthy bike.:rolleyes:
