I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

One of the advantages of doing the Pods and removing the air box is instance access to your battery. Its still only four bolts away if you leave it, much easier than having to take the hose clamps off.

Hey isleman, Dont know if you are talking about the 650 or all the other gs's, but the battery on my 650 is right behind the left side cover, held in by a rubber strap, access has always been easy to get to it. Now putting the carbs on, well, that is sooooo much easier now.

thanks gimp and jt!!!:D, I took it out and put like 50 miles on it yesterday. It is totally badass:D. I am loving the sound, that intake growl is just nasty, especially when teamed up with the 4 into 1 Marshall. I did do one quick pull to 7000 in third, and it pulled purdy hard and wanted to keep going, but I knew I was being bad and let off the throttle. No oil leaks anywhere after this last engine build so I think I will not build any more motors in the wee hours of the morning anymore.
I might have to play with the needle setting or adjust the main jets later down the road, but I need to wait a bit(more miles) so I can get into the high revs and then pull the plugs and see how its burning fuel on the upper end.

my battery on my 850 is under the seat so the old box was never in my way just take the seat off and its right there.

and yeah alot easier to adjust the idle now as well

Guess its just unique to 1100e, burying the battery under the air box that is.

If you have done 500 miles already on your rebuilt motor, you should be fine letting her wind up. It's when you hold the rpm's locked at a fixed rpm's that is not good for breaking in a motor. Let her rev and have fun!

Really?? well its 550 on everything except 1 con rod bearing, that one has 50 miles on it.

there are tons of options on how to break in a motor, some say baby it some say flog it. Either philosopy centers around getting the rings to seat. I think you would be fine if you spin it up a bit. You change your oil yet since those 550 miles? You might want to.

Anyone else want to chime in?

yeah a change at 500 would be a good idea.

and yeah some say ease into it others say rip the guts out of it/

The motor was rebuilt by me last year, then put like 500 miles on it. Developed a knock.....tore it down to find a loose con rod cap. replaced the bearing and put it back together, with fresh oil+new filter after triple checking all of my torque settings. Also re-adjusted the valves again while I was in there. I am waiting til like 1500 miles to switch to my amsoil, during the break in I am just running regular valvoline 10w40.

How did you replace the bearing? You pressed the crank apart by yourself? How hard was that?

I would change the oil with regular dino oil and run it another 1000 then go to amsoil if you want. Your first 500 miles can pick up alot of junk from the rings seating to little bits of grime that dropped in when putting it back together.

GS650-G = 1 piece crank and solid bearings.

Ok cool then, I will run it another 500 miles then switch to my amsoil. I will also not be affraid to tach it a bit here and there.

Cool, thanks guys.

I like the bike man she looks real nice and you should mos deff sell the oem parts.

thanks nisom!! I am thinking about it more and more....especially since yesterday when changing the womans oil in her Maxima...it needs 4 new tires.....thats gonna cost me , and then I look over at the Rx7 and it has a flat tire. Go and air it up and look it over for the leak, ya, its dry rotted....walked around the car, they are all pretty bad off, so thats 4 more tires, and the dam tire on the V65 is damm near bald...like 2000 miles on it. GRRRR, So I might need to sell the spares to offset some of tire money.

Very nice looking bike, Bribird. Now I understand why you said you needed the K&N red colour to match. :-)

Sharp looking colour scheme!
