    A Special Note about Email accounts!
    DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Leaking carbs

It's difficult to tell from my end- I'd be suspicious of o-ring. It has to be a snug fit going down hole and then when gas hits it, it will swell up a bit to make a tight seal. It is 30 years old remember. These are standard buna plumbing o-rings commonly available but you need a vernier caliper to measure the diameter at bottom of groove. O-rings are sold based on ID and cross section thickeness. If you got a Suzuki dealer nearby, I try them- probably a couple bucks apiece for the correct o-ring.
this member sells o-ring kits but I'm not sure he includes the one you want;

Nice pics ! Personally, on 2nd pic, I say that needle seat face (and o-ring) is beat. I just tore apart my 74 honda's carb last winter- o-ring shot, but seat face was excellent still- no sign of grooves/ridges that would prevent needle from sealing. Yours seem worn in comparison.

From my old stuff- scroll down this linked page to float needle set for $8

I've never bought anything from these guys, so I can't vouch for their correctness; sometimes pics don't show the exact item.
My nearby and very expensive Suzuki dealer -alphasports- lists a set at $45. Yikes!
You could do a search on ebay of course

Sounds smart. Ordinarily, the non mikuni aftermarket carb parts are iffy, but I think for the float needle/seat set, this is OK (provided they fit without hammering) If you do eventually do the full carb cleaning, remember to NOT buy any carb rebuild kits- clean what you got and just get new o-rings from cycleorings and bowl gaskets.

So new petcock and new needle/seat should solve the overflowing carb problem which was where this all started a long time ago! Good luck- hurricane season starts soon!

Yeah right now I've bought a new petcock, new bowl gaskets, new bowl drain screw o-rings, all new allan key screws for the top of the diaphram, float bowl, and the 2 brackets, and then i'll get those 2 $8 sets
