So I needed a leather jacket before they would let me drag race. I could wear a dress leather jacket with no protection, but an armored textile jacket won't fly. That said, I looked around and found a new $250 2-piece leather suit on Amazon. Pretty well made, then I put them on. Fat was oozing out of every opening, they fit snugly but OK once I finally wiggle in to them. I am not sure how I could ride in these. Range of motion is extremely limited, not sure I could swing a leg over the bike. Hot, sweaty, harder to get out of than in to. Is this normal, or do I need to send them back and get something else? Never had a set on before, do they break in? Or just suck it up and lose 20 pounds?

Can't do that before the next test and tune July 8th. But I don't need the pants until I hit the 10's, not much chance of that until the 40 pounds are gone

THey have limited sizes left in those colors but plenty of other designs. Much thicker leather than the eBay Pakistani ones. That is part of the problem being so stiff...

but really, your belly is too big, you have to lose weight eat less exercise more. but you already know that.

They didn't have a checkbox for "extra fat" I did find some suggestions that the suit should be slightly uncomfortable at the beginning, and will loosen up in time so if I switch from beer to Scotch I should be fine

A race suit is designed to be in the riding position, leaned over and aggressively positioned. It's designed to fit the rider comfortably while riding the bike.We speak with folks all the time who get the suit on and complain they can''t raise their arms over their head. Ok- great! you''re not going to want your arms flailing over you head if you get off the bike- you''ll want some restriction there. When considering the features of a suit, you''ll realize quick that the higher cost suits offer the most advanced features. If you can''t spring for the big buck suit, you can still get a quality protective suit that fits, without having to settle for a low end suit that will come part on you while riding, or just plain be uncomfortable while riding."

These suite look like a good deal to me. If my wallet were thicker, I'd be buying one. I can't believe the price! I'd PM Todd or Martin for their advice as they both have had or wear leather suites. The Scotch thing works ( for the most part) and a wee bit of "tank armor" on a jacket never hurt anyone. ( you guys are brutal! ) Most of these people are going to be seeing the rear....of your bike anyway......nthego:

I've never used a 2 piece, but a one-piece is always a chore to get in and out of. They're also stiff, awkward and uncomfortable to walk in. The only time they're right is when you're on the bike. All that said, I wouldn't expect too much for $250. Decent suits start at 3-4 times that.

BTW, I spent the day riding around in the suit, it is fine (but hot) on the bike. Loosened up quite a bit by the end of the day. It will be fine for 11 seconds at a time. I also stopped by the Yamaha dealer and drooled over the FZ09s and the Triumph Speed Triple. Might be time for one modern bike.

I will post my pathetic time slip when it is over. It's been a while since I did this on a bike, hopefully it's like riding a bicycle. Last time out in my car I had a .001 reaction time. But I also had a .437...

Usually on a T&T night you can get quite a few runs in. Think I'll take the '83, it is the most sorted...

It is perforated on the white parts. Like I told the (ex) wife...."The last 26 years were yours. The remaining years are mine". Live hard, die young, leave a good looking corpse. Well, 2 out of 3 anyway.
