    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

alrighty my explorations have gotten me no where in finding a lever that fits the gs series has anyone had any luck with levers that fit these bikes dropped my bike yesterday in the dirt and broke the lever thats it just the lever :(
i figured now is a good time to upgrade
 
Which lever are you talking about? You can still get them new from any of the parts dealers (Boulevard, Z1, G&S Suzuki, etc) or you might even be able to get one from Cycle Recycle II
 
the clutch but the stock levers are not adjustable
i was looking for adjustable ones that would fit

exactally will they fit or am i wasting my time
is their a way to shave them down to fit to size

i dont want to buy them and have them become a complete and total waste of money!
 
This probably doesn't really answer your question, but recewntly I changed my front brake master cylinder to a much new Suzuki MC, I think off a V-Strom. The MC looks almost identical to the old one (Mine is an '82 GS1100) but the new lever is adjustable and you could buy probably any new adjustable lever for it. The MC doesn't come with a lever so I just got the Suzuki one.

Things is, the front brakes now have a much better feel to them. They haven't increased in strength obviously but the range is more gradual (it feels) and the lever more comfortable. It wasn't a cheap thing to do but I'm very happy with it.

i am chatting with support at ASV in hopes they have something that will match up and hopefully put in to production the first adjustable levers for a gs series bikes
 
I changed my front MC for a newer part I bought on eBay. I think it was for a Ninja. The smaller reservoir and shorter handle fit much better than the stock set-up. Installation was a snap (since I was replacing the brake lines anyway).

It shouldnt be too hard to find more modern controls. Even something like an early 90s gixxer would have aftermarket levers like those and should be pretty cheap.
 
But the trick is finding ones that will work on the 70's and 80's bikes.....and not having to change all the perch's and so on.....

I will stick my stock ones, much easier
