A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Lights on KG Hard Bags

I just bought a very nice set of these, trunk and side bags. They have lights installed in them. The lenses on the trunk are red. The side bags have amber lenses and red lenses. Obviously, the amber lenses are turn signals. But, are the red lenses on the trunk and side bags meant for brake lights or just tail lights? Does anybody know? Thanks for the help.

Wire them any way you'd like. When I set up lights on my trunk, I put in led lighting for tail and brake. Saddlebags I just have turn signals, but the way yours are set up if they're double filament, the red ones I'd make tail and brake also.
You can never have too much brake light IMHO.

The trunk only has a 2-wire connector coming off of it, so it can only be a single filament bulb. Question is, is it tail light or brake light, or does it matter? I'd prefer brake light. The side bags have 3-wire connectors and one is for turn signal. So, the third one can only be a single filament bulb as well. I guess I could use the trunk for brake light and the side bags for tail lights. Or just use them all for brake lights. I just didn't know what they were originally intended for.

With that choice, I'd make the trunk into brake lights and the saddlebag tailights. Then there's enough light to be seen mo'bettah!:D

Got all the bags wired up and mounted. Everything working good. Now, if the seller will get that fairing wiring harness sent to me that he forgot to bring, I can get that baby mounted and wired up. Looks a little back-heavy at the moment with bags and no fairing.
