A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I did some searches but am not having much luck. I just took apart my carbs to clean them up and install a dynojet kit. I'm missing some parts from whoever was in here last. Where is the best place to source small carb parts online??

1980GS850G
Mikuni BS32 Carbs
New MAC 4into1 Pipes
Running Pods

if you do a google search for GS850 OEM parts a ton of sites will come up. If you're missing too many parts you may want to buy a used set of carbs off ebay and move those parts over to your carbs.

I'm missing one of the little brass washers that the Main (round) jet sits against the needle valve and the #2 carb pilot jet(45) was stripped already but I was able to wrestle it out. I'm also missing two of the clips that hold the float needle against its little spring, and the choke actuation rod should have a spring and its missing too.

Ok, I found a good OEM site thanks Triam.

My question now is if those little clips on the float needle valve are necessary? One was missing when I opened up the float bowl. It seems as though to get it you have to buy the whole float needle valve assembly and their $35 each.

This is the first time I've worked on four carbs at once! Thanks for the help!

I have all but a 45 pilot jet
You do not need the clips on the float seat.

i've got a 6sigma jet kit i'm about to put in my carbs, well come winter. for the o-rings i would suggest cycleorings.com. for the float bowl gasket or any other parts i would suggest suzukipartshouse.com. good luck with the rebuild

Getting Closer

Getting Closer

I have rounded up all the parts and have the carbs mostly reassembled.
My only issue at this point is that the washer on the top of my needle is a very thin .5mm and the stage 3 dynojet kit that I'm installing says to use the stock washer layout and since that stock thick plastic washer is missing, I guess I'll have to find a thicker washer.
I'm getting excited to get it back together!!
