A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi to all, yesterday 16th sept i was at an autojmble and see a set of mikuni carbs so i asked what the price was,
he asked me what bike they were for i said a gs750 of course he looked at me and said these were off a z1000,

I did,nt buy these as i was unsure if i could fit these on a gs so my question is could i have fitted these or are they different to the ones on the gs, also i see rear disc pads which were clearly marked suzuki/kawasaki z series

Just need to know so i,ll be a bit more prepared next time i go to an auto jumble.

many thanks,mark.

The carbs have the same spacing so will fit. However, the jetting (and slide cutaway) is different and you'll possibly have a job dialling them in for your bike. There are plenty of used 750 carbs around anyway.

A lot of bikes share the same disc pads - calipers being made by Tokico (spelling?) and not the bike manufacturer but there are plenty of places selling them listed specifically for your bike so if you're not sure you can avoid the risk by buying those.

Was it Kempton yesterday btw? Any good?

thanks for the explination i am always on the look out for gs parts saw the mikuni,s in nice condition thought i was in,
my second time at kempton very busy loads of bike bits to wade through although there are lots of british bike fanatics there,
i,ll be back there again in october.

Are you quite certain that vm26 installed on a kawasaki 1000 are not just jet changes to a suzi 750? (And probably choke actuator) I know going from a gs750 to gs1000, the vm26 just get different pikots and mains.

The GS750 has different needle jets and jet needles to the GS1000 as well as mains and pilots plus some had different slide cutaways, depending on year.
