    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Missing Front Brake Switch

Hello All,

Can someone tell me where the front brake light switch plugs into the wire harness? The other day I saw that the switch was missing completely. I have seen a few on ebay <$10, but not having one to trace, I'm not sure where it would be plugged in. Typically I use front and rear brake at the same time, but it would still be nice to have both functioning.

I bought my first bike recently (the 81 850 in my sig) and I am in the process of going through it. I am planning on taking a 2400+mi round trip ride with a buddy in a couple of weeks so I am checking a few things off the list before that.

On the 1100s it plugs in inside the headlight. Cliff will know for sure since he the resident 850 all knowing. I would check inside the headlight first. Ray.
 
Look for an orange/green wire and a white wire ? inside the headlight
 
Take the opportunity to put a pressure operated switch in?Way better than the stocker and about the same price.Thinking of doing this on both of mine.

That's an interesting little fella. Never seen one before. My only concern is that the wires seem to be quite a bit shorter than this guy:

I was thinking of bleeding the fluid before departing anyway. Now, my concern is that PO used the blue (silicone?) fluid. At least I can be sure it has gotten the fluid replaced in the last 30 years.

I hope its not DOT5 (silicone) fluid in there, it is not compatible with your brake system.
 
What's the size of the stock Suzuki banjo bolt? Mike's XS offers them in 10mm. x M1.25 or 10mm. x M1.00.
 
I'm not sure. I have never had it off, but I tried to use the AlphaSports Parts fiche but, unless I'm using it wrong, the handy "bolt size in the part number" trick didn't give me an answer. Unless the double-0 in 09360-10007 means 1.00?

Anyone with more experience know?
 
Just so you know, the Motul Racing brake fluid I use is blue also. You may NOT have silicon fluid in yours. Ray.

Thanks, Ray. I didn't know that was a possibility. I'll keep my fingers crossed until I can try to test a bit of it in some water for absorption.

Also, thanks for the welcome, Cliff. Work has kept me from tinkering with the bike too much, but I have definitely already done at least one project with one of your PDFs in hand.
 
I like the idea of this style switch better, but I was wondering if it could be done at the "split" for the front calipers. I'm not sure I could get the boot back on at the MC. I don't have the bike with me right now to take a look at the setup. Has anyone done this swap?
