DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I would like to know if anyone has changed there front calipers on there 1977-1979 dual disc front ends for 750, 850, 1000 or higher bikes ? If so please advise the who, what, when, and where. I would love to rebuild my stock calipers but I cannot find anyone who has the parts anywhere.

DO NOT TELL ME TO GO TO BIKE BANDIT OR CRC ONLINE OR JC WHITNEY OR DENNIS KIRK !! I have already looked.

There is nothing in Dealer aftermarket books like Motorcycle Stuff, Parts unlimited either.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Louie,

Which parts are you looking for? Just the standard dust boots / piston seals, or are you getting more in depth and also looking for caliper piston and other replacement hardware?

I re-did mine a few weeks ago, and had no problem getting the parts I needed for mine.....but I only replaced the rubber parts.

i tried to mount calpiers from a 97 kat 600 but they hit the rim, i did use the master cylinder, works awsome!

Sure you can find just about anything for 1980 bikes and up but its slim pickings for 1977-1979 folks. Still waiting on good answer to this. I know someone is out there

any caliper with square brake pads wont bolt up to our 77-79 750`s with round pads, bolt spacing is differnt.....did you try the dealer? i had no trouble finding caliper seals.

Found everything with local fella from great mills cycles here in Lexington Park Maryland. Love you folks !!

I know that Suzuki still makes and distributes parts for these bikes as they are still available in Australia, I am continually amazed at how few of our Us members actually bother with there local dealer, Why?

Same in Mother England, Dink.

I could get these parts from at least 3 specialist dealers, overnight delivery.

Try These:

www.sparesdirect.co.uk

www.devilsbridge-bikes.co.uk

All the best, fellas.

When checking Bike Bandit for your parts do not just check your bike and year. Many part are interchangable and while they might not have a widget for a 79 Suki 750 they may have one for an 81 and the part number may be the same. Always cross check any part number for the same number from a newer bike. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you dont.

Someone asked why some folks dont go to the dealers to get parts. 2 reasons. Some dealers dont bother with carying parts that old and dont want to bother to order them cause they dont make any money on them and...2 Most times they still cost too darned much money. Suzuki (and alot of other companies as well) have more than made their money back on anything they produced back in the 70's and 80s and yet they still try to make big bucks off of it now.
