A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Most dumbest exaust mod?

Nah, the only real thing wrong is how the dude has lain his bike on it's side to work on it. You see these cutouts on street/strip cars all the time. it's pretty worthless on a bike though, since they're much more sensitive to intake/exhaust changes. If it's a fuelie, the ECU might be able to compensate. I'm willing to bet, however, that the owner of that bike can't ride it to it's limits in stock form, and should probably spend hs time and money just riding it. Practice makes you faster than any mod could.

Well he didn't cut hole in his frame so it's better than some.

I was wondering when that was going to make it over here. . . I'm a member over there as well (also own an '01 GSXR 600), and noticed that thread right after it was posted.

Besides the fact that he hasn't tuned the bike for it and it will likely kill his power, he also installed the ALUMINUM butterfly valve by WELDING it to STEEL. . . It won't hold. Then, he's going to be riding around with a massive hole in his exhaust.

That guy embarrasses any self-respecting GSXR rider with half a brain. . .

Not quite as bad as Shervin, the guy who cut holes in his Ninja's frame for home-made "Ram Air". . .

From every forum I've ever read I didn't know they existed. Just kidding. but the gixxer has a rep as a squid bike. I know there are a LOT of excellent rides on them. It's just the stupid ones that get all the attention.

Maybe he's actually incredibly intelligent and came up with a new welding process for just that application? That mod and the way he laid his bike over made me strap my lollerskates on and LMFAO all the way to my ROFLcopter.

ahhh squids

ahhh squids

it's funny just reading a squid board, with the immediate sarcasm coming from names like southernc0cksucker and chubbychaser. My favorite comment: "You need to get together with this guy and start designing a prototype GP bike. Just start with a stock bike and procede to fill it with holes."

In his own words?

In his own words?

I read down the postings, this is his answer for why:

“What inspired me to do this? well I've always wanted a loud exhaust but not permanently,

I'd love to cause ruckus in the city once in a while but hate having a loud as **** bike while I'm riding 20+ minutes, it just gets very annoying to have a loud bike all the time.

As far as performance goes, i have no figures to show the improvements. but I can absolutely feel the bike pulling harder and when I open the valve.

might be just in my head though, cause the sound really does cause an adrenaline rush

on deceleration, the engine does not slow the bike down at all it just pops and spits out and like a maniac!!! I love this mod.”

Hope the cops nail him!:p

He'll have his exhaust valves burned up soon enough. I really like the guy they linked with the ZX that cut his frame up near the steering head so he could run intake snorkels through the frame. He cut up his fairing too for some reason. From what I could gather he was trying to cut 50lbs off the bike. He'll lose that and more when the front of the bike snaps off.
