A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know of a vendor offering a decent deal on Motobatt batteries?
I'm finding them in the >$90 range on ebay, for a MBTX14AU.....plus $25 to $30 shipping to Canada. I recall these were selling at around $65, not that long ago. I'm retiring a 7 year old Yuasa that refuses to die, (in the interest of safety) and wanted to give Motobatt a try. But at $120 shipped, I should probably just buy another Yuasa AGM locally (around $100) and be done with it, I'm thinking. Strangely, I have not come across a local vendor carrying the Motobatts.:-s

Amazon :D

That's where I picked mine up for $62

I got mine from Impact Batteries (use their Amazon price as it's cheaper than their website)
Yup, $62 via Amazon, but no Int'l shipping.....$92 via their site + cost of UPS Ground shipping (+ UPS brokerage fee, I'd assume.).

Where exactly is "God's Country". I googled it and it shows a province in India.

Sorry, I need it shipped to Ontario Canada. Shipping to India would have been convenient years ago, but I doubt they ship out of N. America, although I understand these are Chinese made. Looks like I'll be able to pick up a Yuasa High Performance AGM (240 CCA) in Ontario for $90.....might be the best option yet. Most Yuasa batteries are now U.S.A made, apparently.

If you had read a recent test on the Motobatt you would most likely pay the extra shipping. It outperformed all batteries it was tested with, even ones with higher CCA ratings. Had to use it to start my wife's Passat last week, no problem, it started a Trident V10 over 50 times in the test before they stopped testing, all the competition had failed before that point.
