A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I'm just about finished swapping the 82 1100g into my 82 850l, and I've come across another difference between the two motors, the starter clutch. I just realized that I had no harness coming out from the stator cover on the 1100 motor, and pulled it off to find no stator and no starter clutch. I then pulled the cover off my 850 to swap my old stuff over but realized that the starter clutches are different. I've searched ebay, craigslist, and bike bandit but can't seem to find a starter clutch for the 1100 motor.. Does anyone have any ideas before I pull this motor out and put the stupid 850 back in, I've pretty frustrated right now.. thanks

Oh awesome, so thats everything I would need then? I'm sorry for sounding dumb but I just have the shaft sticking out I'm not positive on everything that I'm missing. If thats the case I'll just order everything there..

The shaft(crankshaft?) has a threaded end and I don't see a nut in that diagram so I'm assuming I'll need some nut too, is there anything else I may be missing?

And I just double checked that shim (#12) isn't the same as my 850... I'm just having no luck.

Might as well break the news to ya now: the stator is different too.

First research exactly what you need, then put a post in the "Parts Wanted" forum.

Thanks for the heads up, its looking like I'm just gunna put the 850 back in, I'm getting tired of this headache. Thanks for the help
