Hello,
I'm just bought 1982 GS650G (my first motorcycle!!!) and as part of the deal got the Windjammer without mounting bracket. I wanted to attach it so I could ride on cold days.

Does anybody knows where to get the bracket? I've seen a lot of them on eBay for other brand bikes but none for GS650.
Would any bracket work on the GS650G?

Thanks!

Greetings,

I just got another bike that came with a windjammer faring, which sits on my front porch. I am not going to use it or the mounting bracket. I do not know if it will fit your bike. It came off an 81 GS850GL. It was given to me and I will give it to you if you can find out weather or not it will fit. Just pay for the shipping.

As for that faring, it too is up for grabs. Its in OK shape has had a little bondo work, but should work for someone. Same deal, claim it and pick up or pay for shipping.

Thanks Andy!!
Can you wait a little until I find out if your bracket will work on my bike?

I wonder if you can take and send me a couple of pictures of it. May be it will help to figure that out...

Thanks again,
Oleg

Looking at various frames, the mounting brackets should work. You may need to do a little shimming for a perfect fit, but with a bit of shimming it should be OK. Double check, but I think it should work out.:-D

It will fit but when you put the fairing on make sure you have clearance for the tach cable and such.I had to shim mine up in the back with rubber washers to get clearance of the gauges where the headlight adjustment is.They are nice and i would not ride without it.

Hi Andy,

Seems like other people think that the bracket will fit.
Can you ship the bracket to 01262- I'll pay you shipping cost as you mentioned. Can do Paypal if you'd like.

Thanks,
Oleg

Mine is mounted with 2 hook screws at the top and 2 hose clamps on each side at the bottom. If you want I will take a close up of them for you.Mount the fairing mount to the frame first and then put the fairing on.It's easier that way and you can do it by yourself.

tconroy, thanks!
That would be great to have some pictures.
Go to my photobucket sight below and you will find them there. If that doesnt help I will take more later. It's raining here in KC right know so the flash came on in my garage. If the sun was out I could do better.

If you still have the fairing, I'd be interested....shipping would be to 46410(N.W. Indiana, let me know the fee, and payment method) if it's gone....no biggie, there's others out there

Thanks!
