    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

my GS750 Cafe Racer build

So I'll start this thread for my 750. I picked it up with a few fun things already done to it- Vance & Hines pipe, jetted carbs, individual filters, drilled rotors, steel braided brake lines and some other fun stuff.

Here she is the day I took her home...

I want to go flat black on all the painted parts, lower the front, chop the seat and go cafe style but I'll be using the stock seat and tail piece. I'll also be moving the tail and taillight(which will be fitted under the tail) to the back of the seat pan so it all comes up when you open the seat...
I want to swap out the clubman bars for clip ons so that I can lower the forks more than I'd be able to with the clubman bars. They'll be fitted with bar end mirrors. Also want to get a black headlight stone guard and fork boots to round out the cafe look!

got the back hacked and the tail and seat just mocked up at this point...



got a little artsy here...
 
The first post... the black bike on the bottom (your inspiration) is it just me, or do those wheels look to be the same size?
 
Slight update!

Got the seat pan all sorted out and welded up and primed! You can also see how I cut down the frame ends and re-welded them in place so I can still mount the blinkers to them

thanks! Got a few more goodies on their way- clip on's, bar end mirrors, headlight stone guard and fork boots...

The tail is almost all sorted out, I need to find somewhere I can have the seat cover re-stitched up to keep it sealed from the Long Island elements and figure out a way to secure the tail to the seat pan (I have an idea, it's just a matter of making it real) and a license plate and she'll be road ready!
 
You may want to consider a fork brace. Without that front fender providing the little bit of stability it offers, things may get squirly.
 
This may just be me... but are your tires mounted correctly? It almost looks like the pattern is opposite from what it should be... Just something you should look at.

I'm actually not 100% sure but they're getting replaced before this bike sees significant road use

The bike came with them that way, I have clip-ons on the way so I figured I'd leave them for now...

Then took a ride today with my pops...didn't take as many pictures as I should have but I got a good shot of mine and a shot of our bikes together...his is a HD Sportster 1200 Low
