A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This is the Craigslist description:

1983 Suzuki GS1100E

condition: excellent
engine displacement (CC): 1100
fuel: gas
odometer: 14000
paint color: black
title status: clean
transmission: manual

Everything has been replaced except the rear fender and starter. Engine was rebuilt with 2nd over Suzuki pistons 4000 miles ago. Actual original mileage is unknown but it shows 14,000. Mikuni Flat Slide carbs, stainless 4/1 exhaust, Dynatec ignition and coils. New wiring harness. Oil / filter changed regularly. The only problem now is the fuel gauge which is new but non functioning. The fuel tank sending unit is new and checks out fine. Other then that it's all good. Always on a battery tender. Always stored inside. It dyno'd 109 Rear Wheel HP.
The front forks and wheel are off a 1984 GS1150E. The rear swingarm is as well. It's set up for a firm ride but not harsh. It's clear from the photos that the current Pirelli tires have never been tested, but it has been pushed in the past and has no handling issues at all. Right now it has velocity stacks which give it another 3HP but I'll include K&N filters as well.
Selling because I can't ride anymore due to injury.

Just got it unloaded after a 600 mile round trip. The only thing it needs is the carbs cleaned. The seller was a very nice guy, and a member on here. He is 70 years old now, and is looking at getting a hip replacement, and was in the process of moving to Arizona, from Oregon. I think he said he's owned it for about 14 years.

That's a beauty for sure! Looks seriously fast! What's with the vinyl sock over the intakes? Are there foam filters underneath - I hope?

Has velocity stacks under the socks with metal screens. Pretty common for running velocity stacks. Bike came with a box of spares, including 8ea total filter pods, 4ea K&N and 4ea no brand. I will probably put the K&N filters back on. But the seller did say it made a 3 HP difference on the dyno between the V-stacks and the pods..... so that would be a like a 3% increase....
106+3%=109 hp
3% increase for free is cool in my book....

I think it was a good bargain..... mostly because I know exactly how much work or time the guy put into it....I wish I had that kind of time right now, but don't. Right now for me time is worth more than money, hope to get that switched around later this year or next spring, after we sell the house and downsize/simplify.

Hmm, let me see if I can get this to work....

Nope, it will not let me copy and paste full size pics even if I pre shrink them to say 200k-400k. The only thing it will let me do is use the forum "add picture" button, and only one picture at a time. Then when it's uploaded to the forum site here, it is a single thumbnail you have to click on to expand, but it only expands to a smallish medium size. Very frustrating. And I don't really want to use a photo hosting site, as every single one I have used over the last 20 years has gone to ****s, and I lost access to the pictures or they were held hostage for money or other bs....
let me see if I can just email them to you....
