A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

bought theses at a honda shop for 20 bucks. the throttle seems to stick though i guess i will have to sand off the paint

Cool! Looks like a stock Suzuki bar from an 1100E model. ;)

Daniel

The position of the cables might be causing the throttle to stick, too. If they're lower bars with stock cables, the throttle assembly might just need to be pushed out a little towards the end of the bar or re-angled a bit.

Good advice. Also, make sure the end of the grip (inside the throttle twist tube) isn't rubbing on the end of the bar.

This was the case not only did the bike reve up to 3 grand when turned on. It seemed the clutch cable was not functioning correctly. I ell have to be running the bike and adjust the cables to where they function correctly AND look good. Thanks guys!

I did the same thing to mine, I ordered the bikemaster daytona bars, throttle stuck and revved. I will try moving things around tomorrow. Thanks for the tips

Yes, shorter bars can cause the throttle cable to have too tight of a bend, or radius, causing it to stick inside the housing. Try to get the bend not so tight, or try to find a shorter cable.

After you're done adjusting the cables, start the bike in neutral, and swing the handle bars back and forth, maxing out the turn radius each way.

If the idle jumps up, you need to re-adjust.
If not, then you should be good.

my throttle was getting stuck on the end of the bars, moved them 1/8 of an inch, working fine now. thanks for the tips.

those look great! Did you also replace the stock grips? Im goign to do the same but it appears the throttle cable ends in a part that is affixed to the throttle grip.. do new grips have that already in place? All the images ive seen of aftermarket ones, they do not. How did you workaround this?

Thanks 78550GS!
I'm looking for something a little closer to dirt bike bars that I am used to.

The chrome ones were, but they hit the tank. So I put the black superbike bars on.
