    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Here is my tank for my 80 GS1000GL, I first laid a metallic red base down, then did that flames in a intense blue pearl, then decided on a french blue to stripe the flames and frehanded a lil design on the base of the tank. I have cleared it 5 times and wet sanded it between each coat of clear.I did all the striping with Master's Touch 20/0 Ex. Liner brushes.I aint done no pinstriping in 3 years so i belive it came out really well, Enjoy!!!

Please,that should look amazing in sunlight.I'm hacking around with striping myself,doubt I'm going to be that good:(
 
This is the first thing I have striped in over three years, I dont use traditional striping brushes though. I actually use a Master's Touch 20/0 Ex. Liner, the brushes in the pic,they really do wonders.

A little secret I dont use water based paints to line with, easier clean up, I can make them to the right consistency I desire and if I dont like a line a lil water and can start fresh.

If ya need any advice or got a wuestion feel free to ask and I will definatley get them pics on here for yall!!!!!!!!!

Here is some fairly decent ones, isnt great pics since being taken with a cam phone, sorry aint gotten them on sooner, been sick.

On the next to last set of pictures, am I seeing that right? did you paint
the inside of the filler neck & why?

Filler necks are tricky, just had my whole bike redone, professionally,
last December, all was looking good up until today, I noticed all around the filler neck under the cap the paint has bubbled up. Called my painter and he said he'd fix it. Now I'm leary, what can I say to him to do to keep it from happening again? Can't really understand how it happened anyway,
unless some fuel leaked around the gas cap seal into that crevice around the filler neck and got under the paint and spread from there.

Anyway, that is a fantastic paint job, those long bristles and steady hand has really worked their magic on your tank! Kudo's to you!

You may want to read this from a very knowledgeable painter. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showpost.php?p=1382299&postcount=16 Diablo, That is very very nice! Did you tape the flames or freehand em? Either way it's pretty sweet.
 
The filler neck is bare I removed the paint already like i was suppose to jsut didnt do it at the time i took them pictures. I appreciate the aknowdlegements, I taped off my design for the flames sprayed them, removed all the tape , wet sanded it all, and then freehanded the pinstriping on it .

Here is some tabs I built for using underneath the moutning area of the rear of gas tank. I had recently removed the rubber strips off top of the 93 s10 blazer because Im building a slight lifted hauler rig for my bikes. I cut a length of the strip off, placed it under the tabs, drilled out some hole and then took a pencil and marked the shape of them on it. Then using my bench grinder, I shaped them and TADAAA cushioned rear of bike.
