    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

need help identifing gsx1100

I have an opportunity to purchase a parts bike-it's a gsx1100-no paperwork, no seat, no tank, no gages, no battery-I have not seen it in person yet, but have seen a picture-rough but good for parts-I can get it cheap and would have to drive 2 hours to pick it up-I will post a picture as soon as I can-it has a rectangular headlight, spoke wheels, aluminum swingarm, dual rear shocks, chain drive, 4-2-1-header, cam covers are rectangular not round, still has carbs-I think it's a early 80's E model-been sitting 6 months-ran when parked-I have a '79 gs750e, so I don't need this but I would part it out cheap-not looking for profit-just trying to help fellow GSR members-would the swingarm fit my bike? Can anyone narrow down what this bike might be? Thanks for the help!:?:
 
Rectangular headlamp indicates 80 or 81. Swingarm swaps are popular, not sure if it's a direct swap but shouldn't be that much involved based on the number of people doing it.

Engine parts, such as the head, seem to draw a fair price. Headers also draw a good price, particularly if it's a Kerker (who was one of the few making a 4-2-1).

It does sound like a early 80's gsx 16v eithr E or ET:)

I'm not personally comfortable with drilling out the swingarm pivot point in the frame but believe you can change the bearings & bushings to fit the arm
