I have a GS 500e 1992, and I took it apart for a rebuild because of consumption of oil. When i had the head apart doing the valve job i cleaned up the nasties in the ports, and opened the throats and blinded them. I also left the intake manifolds on and matched those to the ports. went with a .5 mill over pistons, and put it all together. Fired it up and ran like a soup sandwich and very lean. Put a bigger main jet in still lean. went up 4 jet sizes and still lean. Checked intake manifolds and they were leaking, fixed that and still lean. Checked my timing and that was off. Fixed that and the bike runs great low to mid range in rpm but once it hits about 9 grand it misses and falls flat on its face. Checked the plug and still lean. Any thoughts? And is there any thing I can do to these carbs for some more fuel without the main?
Thanks guys.
