It may not be evident but I skipped art :D

These are BST36 carbs.

This part puzzles me. :-k
Am getting good vacuum from all of the lines.
From all of what lines? There is only ONE line that should have vacuum, that is the one connected to the vacuum port on #2 carb.

Have replaced the needle ans float valve and have tested the petcock and if I put it on primary gas runs out turn it to run it doesn't
THAT is perfect.

Now, as others have suggested, put a hose on the vacuum port on the petcock. Leave the selector in the RUN position, suck on the vacuum line. Fuel should flow. Stop sucking, fuel should stop.

When you put the tank back on, make sure the vacuum line is connected to the port that is on the engine side of #2 carb and the fuel line is connected to the "T" between carbs 2 and 3. The "T"s betwee 1&2 and 3&4 are VENT lines, they should be run over the airbox. If you have the stock airbox, there will be a small bracket on the back of the right side. Both hoses will fit through there to hold them in relatively still air.

That pic is incorrect for a 1980 GS1000G.

CRAIG.BESHIRES
How could you be having fuel pouring from the carbs and gas not getting through the float valve? Are you sure that the fuel is connected to the correct fuel port? From the petcock there are two ports. The larger diameter one is for fuel and the smaller diameter one is for vacuum. The fuel line connects to the center fuel port between carbs 2 and 3. The vacuum line from the petcock goes to the brass vacuum port nipple on carb number 2 on the engine side.

I tried to post the link to BikeCliff's "Where Do These Hoses Go?" but none of his links are working for some reason.

Actually, that picture is incorrect for ANY GS bike (that I know of).

Those two hoses that you have joining in the middle are VENT hoses and get draped over the back of the airbox.

The vacuum hose that you want is on top of the engine side of #2 carb. Remember: they are numbered from left to right as you are sitting on the bike. #1 is under your clutch hand, #4 is under your throttle hand.

The fuel from the petcock goes to the "T" that is between carbs 2&3.

If you have fuel pouring out, as described above, it's because you are dumping it into the wrong place.

You are correct. That is a sketch of my carbs. Sorry for the confusion

Ok I have the lines the right way if I take the tankb off and fill the carbs with fuel and start the motor it will idle just fine. I can feel a vacuum pulling on the fuel line is that normal? And the vacuum line itself. And I went by the factory spec's about setting my floats. But when I hooked everything back up and turned it to primary to watch the fuel intake I noticed that it did not come out or the float vavle.

Ok so I just looked at bikecliffs page and I think I found my problem the previous owner had the fuel line going to the breather on the top oh the vavle cover. So that is where I thought it went. But now I have another question. Can I just block that off because if it stays open it runs like crap

If what you say is correct, you need to change your oil, because you just filled the motor up with gas

Post up some pictures so we can better study this anomoly

Ok soooooo I fixed the fuel problem:) but no when I give it throttle it kinda wants to die out then speeds up am thinkingvthaf the diaphrams are bad any clues on how to tell

I sent a notice to Cliff that his site was not working, he responded saying that his provider is having some "issues".

He apologises for the inconvenience. :o

.

He's got everybody hooked; now the price is going to go up .

No I don't have an airbox am using an air filter on each carb
