New bike won't start

So is this the way it's supposed to look like then? The guy put a cutoff valve onj the fuel line going to the carbs I think to shutoff/on the gas/

And what I've noticed is if I don't turn that value shut once I park the bike the gas will start to leak from the bowls.

No. One had levers and one did not. The reason is the one with the lever would hit the tops of the carbs and couldn't be switched from on to resereve etc etc.

If yours doesn't have a lever the you get the leverless one.
Chuck, he no longer has stock carbs. He might be able to use the one with the lever. Also, be sure and order the o-ring that goes between the petcock and the tank, and the sealing washers that go on the mounting bolts.
Don't forget the fuel line either.

Looks like the PO had found the petcock bad and just short cut the repair with that shut off valve.
He may be able to use the levered one ( which would be great ). I would be rock solid on return policy if the levered one didn't work. Hate to be stuck with it if its not exchangeable.

Too bad you don't have a lever one to try on his bike.

I could pop over and take a look with the tank on the bike. We had it mounted last night, so I could easily take some measurements and have him post a couple of pics.
I'll need to know soon as I will be headed over to bwringer's MotoGP cookout shortly.
Or I could do it some other time.
Ned, the lever unit is far more desirable if it will fit. The notched 80 petcock is much cursed by those who are stuck with them.

Correct me if I am wrong,, but as I remember things, they went with a leverless because the handle would hit on CV tops and the VMs had clearance for the levers.

Does this ring a bell???

I'm working a bunch this week so I won't have time to work on it so I was at least trying to get it ordered. I talked to the guy at boulevard and he said I can return it if it's not the right one. Is the concern the lever itself hitting the tank?

So if I bolt the tank down and measure from the middle of the petcock that's on now I can see the distance I need, and compare that to the length of the lever if someone on here knows the measurements? So I would measure from the middle to the top of carb 1?

That is what I recall also. However, the shape of his flat slide GSXR CV carbs is significantly different.
Yes, some measurements and some pictures would probably tell the whole story.

I am concerned that the o-rings have two different part numbers. What if the bolt pattern/spacing is different?

Here's the tank bolted down all the way. Even those these aren't OEM carbs I'll probably have them for awhile because of money. SO based on this picture which petcock you think would work?

Anyone have any ideas which petcock I should buy with these carbs. It looks to me the one with the lever would work.

Purchase the one that fits the tank correctly, then if you have room and you will still have the room if and when you get the other carbs, get the one with the lever...much easier to move from on to prime to off and so on....
