DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I changed out my rear brake pads the wheel was moving fine with the old ones but they where down to the metal all most now that I have replaced them with new ones of course its to tight and the wheel wont turn anyone out there got any ideas Rubber is good did not rebuild hoping not to

Sounds like your caliper pistons are binding. This is common on old bikes when the pistons have to move a significant distance inside the bore (such as when changing pads).

There are no short cuts to good brakes. I recommend tearing down the system and cleaning out all the crud.

thanks will do got a week off guess im gonna need it LOL

Good man!

Agreed with Ed...not cleaning those calipers and Master Cylinders (front and back) out correctly for all brakes could lead to some dangerous and scary seconds.

Guess you Guys where right now sure how the hell I had any stopping power

Okay so I cleaned and rebuilt the calipers. New pads are installed but im getting a lot of drag when the wheel turns. Im thinking it could be in the actual Brake peddle anyone got any ideas on this? I also had a hard time getting the Calipers in place was a really tight fit! Thanks for checking out my post

have checked that seems to be working properly tested the brakes off the bike with a wood block everything seems to be normal with return but still to tight on the rotor

The masters have a tiny relief port that's easily blocked by the smallest chunks of gunk. The brakes will start to self-actuate as they get warmer; there's nowhere for the excess fluid to escape to. If your caliper was bad enough that you're wondering how you could have gotten any braking at all, then that port is probably stuffed up too.
