A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Banjoman did a great job!By the way.I'm not going to mail out the pics anymore since Planecrazy is going to post them in the thread.
Also I would like to ask Banjo how much he would charge to make me a set of these?

Awsome job however could you give us a list of hwat parts you used and where you found them or if homemade what process did you use :?: =P~ =P~

Its all stainless bolts, cotter pins, flat bar, steel rods and pipe, I cut and bent the brake and shifter arms to join up to the push rods, used a vice and torch to bend and cut, stailess steel rods for welding and a grinder with a blending wheel on it, TONS of polishing, took me 5 full days to make these but 1 day went into figuring the job out, I read a post about them being to low, it's not low at all, my hihgway bars was lower

Thanks alot and hope you all can use this mod to make your riding more comfortable and I will try to help with your questions as best I can

Very nice job! Engine covers look great too!!

I took them covers of and buffed for 4 days, I used a paint stripper to remove the old clear coat off then its straight polishing from there, I used a 6 inch jewlery buffing wheel on the side of a bench grinder with 1-3 step buffing compund, works good on the heads of the bolts aswell.

They are about an inch about the exhaust, never touched yet around corners, lots of room to spare to the pavement, believe me I thought of that problem before I started this project.

Awesome Controls

Awesome Controls

Hi all. I'm new to this site. I was surfing the web looking for some info about interchangeable gas tanks for my GS1000L and stumbled across the Forward control job you are all raving about. It was driving me nuts, all the posts before I found the PIX. I kept thinking that I was NEVER going to see the finished job, and they are AWESOME!!! I'm going to try to get those done for my 1000.

BTW, does anyone know what years/models gas tanks are interchangeable with my 79 GS1000L? That info would be awesome, as I am trying to find a temporary tank so mine can get a custom paint job. Thanks in advance.

That's exactly what I want for bike could you give me a list of whaqt you used I'm thinking of going with just plain iron istead and painting it black. I appreciat all the help
