All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just joined this forum, here is a picture of my ride.
I remember the first time I laid eyes on a GS1000s and thinking how I could never afford to own one.
Just over 30 years ago my dream came true. :welcoming:
This is a bike that will never leave my collection :o

Cheers

Kenny,

Welcome to GSR.
THanks for posting, and the picture.
Nice bike there.

But you cant just say "collection" without explaining more. har har har

Being that you are in New Zeeland, I suspect you can also post great scenic photos of the bike (to bother us folks stuck in ice-snow-no-riding winter).

.

The collection, ok here goes.
A ZX14r 2013 model - bought as a two up bike because the ZX10r (which I still have) would wheelie too much with my Girlfriend on the back. These two alternate with storage/parking arrangements, one is kept at my girls place - she's a very understanding woman and I'm all out of Garage space.
A 1996 CR500Rt, owned from new - also one which will never be for sale.
A CRF450r 2007 model - cos the CR500 is such a handful nowadays.
2x TT500's 1980 G models, because I lusted after those when I was a teenager just as much as the GS.
A 1976 KT250 Kawasaki trials bike which I bought to "have a go" at vintage trials. Haven't had a go at vintage trials yet - still have the bike though.

I picked up a 1984 Husqvarna WR500 frame some years ago which I hope to shoehorn one of the TT500 engines into, unfortunately it's not a rolling chassis, this was a very late night Trademe (NZ equivalent to E-bay) decision after one too many bottles of beer. And finally a PE400t 1980 rolling chassis which at one point had a TT500 engine shoehorned into it. I'm hoping to make some kind of Frankenstein project out of that lot someday.

Mate, there is a lot of fantastic riding here in New Zealand - I'll try and find some pics to post.

Hang in there, only another few months until Michigan thaws out :) then we in NZ will be moaning about the cold :(
