A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Was going to fine tune today, was sitting on bike with it running and put my hands behind exhaust pipes and left side was cool , right side real warm. Thought maybe a bad plug. Switched plugs, same thing. Right side hot left side cold. I can grag exhaust header at motor and luke warm. Cant touch right side as it would burn me bad,. Lots of spark on left as is right.. Help

carbs

carbs

I had it running, pulled the right side plug wire, and the motor quit.

put wire back on, started motor, pulled left plug wire , kept running but i could feel and see the spark when testing. Im thinking its back to the cleaning the left side carb again..

Are you getting spark to the non-firing cyl? Pull the plug, ground the end with the gap to the engine, attach the plug wire, and let 'er run for a bit (actually I think you can pull the wire on the other plug so it doesn't run but still should spark while you try to crank it over - either would work). Should see spark. If not you have iginition issues, otherwise, if you are getting spark, it could be fuel/air related or you are not getting strong enough sparking.

I think that'd be the next bit of info that would let the real pros here help you out.

I had a similar problem just the other day... mine was due to the idle/sync adjustment. It sounds like your right cylinder (main) is adjusted good (main idle screw) but maybe the sync screw is way off cutting the airflow to the left (secondary) cylinder? If you have good spark and your carbs are clean it could be the problem.

clogged jet

clogged jet

Main jet clogged on left side carb. Something must have broke off somewhere and made its way into it. Will throw on today and see if that was the problem..
