I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I mentioned that I would be getting a new seat cover. Purchased one from Dennis Kirk for $63.94 shipped to my door. It’s a Saddleman cover and I’m very pleased with it. I think it looks better than stock. The stock cover has the pattern etched into the seat but this one is a sewn in patter that holds the foam liner in place. Gives it a nice look. They say you could put this over the top of your old cover and use the drawstring to tighten it but I chose to remove the old cover and install it like the original. The pan was in nice shape all the little tabs were in place and usable. I did paint the pan while I had it out. The whole installation took about 30 minutes not including the drying time for the paint. And I only poked one hole in my finger with one of those pointy sharp mounting teeth.

See pic below.

Looks sharp! Definitely removes any concern I had about going the saddleman route!

I can recommend it. It's a well made cover.

+1 :-D

I've got one on my 850, and it's great. Tip: I used Saran Wrap to cover the foam before I stretched the new cover on. It makes it a little easier to slide the cover over the foam, and it keeps the foam from getting waterlogged when the bike sits out in the rain.

Hey Ruddy,

I did read that in another one of your post but you know I completely forgot about it. It would have made the stretching a lot easier. If anyone else does this don't forget that good tip!

Dennis Kirk has a scratch and dent outlet store up here in North country. Got the Saddleman on my 821100E but may have stretched it a bit too much. The plastic pan pulls away from the tank a little. Much better than orig !\\:D/

I would like to know where to get a seat cover for a 1980gs750L with the biult in sissy bar back rest, I cant find one any place.

If they don't have a Saddleman (and that looks nice BTW!), try Sargent Cycles in Florida. I love mine:

Looks great man  !

I looked up one for mine and although they do have it, I don't like it for my bike. Probably comfy, but not stock looking really.

Looks good. :) I have a question though.
I'm not trying to be nit-picky but are the two outer rows of stitched squares all the same size?
What I'm seeing in the pic is the "top" row of squares look smaller than the "bottom" row. Is this just camera angle or what?
I was damned with being a perfectionist and I notice things, even if they're just illusions.

Yes they appear to be. I think the angle of the shot makes it look like the outer row is smaller than the one closest to the camera.

No no... scott... there's def one for our bikes. Look around other places for the seat replacement covers.... that should be virtually identical to the one shown at the top of this thread. DK used to carry them, dont know where they went because I'll need one too

So I was eyeballing my seat last night wondering what could be done about the low position and the lack of decent padding and saw the old familiar "Hang 2" sticker that's been under it since I got the bike. I figured it was some decal that a PO had put under there. Didn't think much about it. Then I noticed the stamped/molded into the pan was a large "H" and below a large "2". Hmm.. H2...... Hang 2???? Off to the internet. Well. I guess Hang 2 is an aftermarket seat maker. Go figure. I can't find anything more about them.

Does anyone know anything about them?

I bought my replacement seat cover from JC Whitney. It's a Saddlemen cover, fits quite well too. I am going to get gel pads though, to make it more comfortable on long rides.

J_C & DanTheMan thanks for the suggestions. I tried what I had book marked for parts sites and added JC Whitney. They are winning so far. Partly due to the fact that they actually have it. Picture shown is not the same as stock but certainly something I can live with. Who knows what it will actually look like upon arrival. Currently the foam is in great shape, so I'd like to get something on there despite the fact that I'm not really riding it.

gs54, is your seat stock? On mine the sissy bar is seperate, not part of the seat. look here for the cover JCWhitney lists.
