    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Newbie, Gs700!! Main Jet 127??

Hi to all!! Great website, very helpful people. I just got a gs700e of ebay for 500.00 working on getting it back in running shape. It is pretty much stock. I had a gs700 a few years ago and loved it!! So when I seen this one on ebay I could'nt pass it up. Thanks to all your posts I have the bike runing fairly well. The carbs had 127 main jets though?? Bought new 125 jets, boots, o-rings, fuel cock, ect... Cleaned everything and put it together. Started and ran, took it down the road and it seemed like it had no power compared to my old gs. It also did'nt drop the idle down sometimes when coming to a stop. So I put the 127 jets back in. Road down the street and it knocked my socks off!! Know I think it is faster than my old gs. Do you guys think it will be o.k. with 127 jets?? Or to much fuel? It is great to be a gs owner again. And thanks to all for your help!!
 
Oh yea, with the 125 jets the throttle response was very sluggish. With the 127 jets as soon as you twist its there!! Just seems odd for a stock intake and exit to run 127 jets. I do'nt want to take a longer trip and have it running to rich and leaving me sit. Maybe I can run it and pull plugs?? Any ideas??
 
I think the bike has already answered the question for you. These were on the lean side from the factory to pass emission tests. When doing any work on the carbs you will want to read the plugs color anyway.
 
Any suggestion on how long to run it before checking and should I check right after running it? I just thought it was kinda odd because from what I have read on the site, A 125 is usually good. My plugs were new but the fuel cock caused an issue of excessive fuel (have replaced it since). Do you think they will clean up if ran for a while? Or should I replace them again to make sure the plug indication is correct when checked?
 
Plugs are cheap, try it with a new set. Just run it at least long enough so the oil is good and warm.
