A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Alright,
A lot of work has been done to the bike since I last posted here. I removed the huge eye sore fairing and all three of the bags. I changed out the air and oil filters. I also decided to removed the gas tank and give it a new paint job.

With the bags off the back of the bike there is no where to mount the rear directionals. I was thinking about just popping some LEDs on there. I took the headlight bucket out of the windjammer fairing and ill be using that to mount the headlight to the ears.

I noticed that the bike accelerates whenever it is turned to the right. It is strange, I don't know if the throttle cable is getting pinched because its in the wrong place or what. Anyways, with the gas tank of I was hoping to take care of the throttle problem but Im not quite sure what to do about it.

Here are a couple before pictures of the gas tank. I put a coat of black on it last night and I will post pictures of the finished product later.

Looks good!

Your cable is not pinched but is tight or wrapped around something, turn it so its tight and follow back to the carbs..easy fix..

Mine did that too a little but only in neutral, in gear it wasn't noticeable.
Somehow it fixed itself.

Prep work on the tank looks great, cant wait to see it finished.

Tank

you need to slacken off the adjusters on the throttle cable so you have some free play on the throttle grip. make sure it is routed correctly too.
tank is looking good..........

Thank you for all the input. I haven't had a chance to look at the wiring of the throttle cable just yet. I did however, have a little time to check out the finished product on my gas tank. Turns out, a giant fly landed on the right side of the gas tank after I sprayed the black. I am going to skotch brite it and try again.
