This may be a basic question, but I have an '83 GS750ES and their is absolutely no slack in the clutch cable. I've tried adjusting it with the jam nuts, but it doesn't seem to do anything. There is also a good amount of slippage at higher RPM's so I'm led to believe that I'm adjusting the cable wrong or that my clutch plates need to be replaced. I assume that I need to drain the oil and take off the clutch cover to check the plates?
Also, if it turns out that the clutch cable is just stretched, how would one go about replacing it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
