Just a quick note-I recently put one of these on my bike and love it. It is handlebar (and headlight) mount. Now the good part, the guy it was purchased from says he might get 3 more(still waiting to find out). They have been painted black-Pro job ,no rattle can.Overall dimension is 24high x 22 wide with inserts for round or rectangular headlamp.I am over 6' and wind catches me at chin level with no buffeting of the helmet, the fairing is stable with no ill effects on handling that I have seen so far-I've tested it to 220+ KPH. The bad part is the price, with tax it was a little over 200cnd. I am trying to get a better price and will ask for $10 over my cost(will show invoice). These are NOT going to be on E-theft. This group is the best thing going and I couldn't care less about making a profit. I would like to keep the sales to the southern On. region so they can be picked up.Any longer distance-I Have tools, beer, and a place to crash for the night, if you are willing to ride here I can be very flexable in order to help. Will post pics when the kid gets back with the camera.

Basically angular as opposed to curved, mine is on 80 1100 ET and goes well with the bike, the camera is on holiday with the young lad so it will be next week before I can try to post a picture. So far the reaction is good as I get a lot of people stopping to compliment me on the bike.I was lucky to have left over paint from when I painted the bike so it was a small task to paint the fairing to match the bike. Wife wants to go for the bike of the month. As stated I might get 3, not sure which inserts will be available for headlight.Again--I will work my best deal and add $10 for the trouble, as well as supply the tools to install -if rider has longer distance to go overnight stay can be easily arranged.By the way 24" is top of windscreen to bottom of fairing.

Hi,
I have a Tracy cafe type fairing that looks like the one on the Yamaha RD pictured in this string. I was given this fairing by a friend who lost the mounts. Any idea if this guy with the Shoei fairings would sell just the mounting brackets? They've got to be very similar.
I guess I could fabricate some, but I don't know what the originals should look like. Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance for the mount pictures.
Sounds like you had a typical week in the life of a GS owner.

Got fairings. Two black one white. anyone wants to see them I finally have a picture, just Email me and I will get back to you.Got a bit better price(bought more parts) Can let them go for $200CDN-no tax. Please let us know how you make out....and post those pics!

Tony.

That's the one I have. Excellent protection and it looks great. 5'9" the wind hits me about mid helmet, and flows smooth. Tuck down just a tad and you are out of the wind altogether. (Useful during hailstorms.... personal experience)

My mounts are very simple:

On each side, a handlebar clamp and a rod slid through it. The rod slides through a reciever on the fairing, both ends adjustable and locked down by an allen worm screw.
lower: a stick of soft steel ribbon, clamped to the forks and attatched to the fairing by a bolt/washer. (I painted the bolt and washer to match when I painted the fairing.)
I made the lower to stop vibrations. It was made with just the upper mounts.

You must be missing something as the ones I have also mount to the headlight supports. I think you can see the slotted metal mount inside the headlight opening. I'm not sure which pic I posted as For some reason I can't open the link-if it's the pic of the fairing on the floor the mount is visible in the headlight opening. I've managed to bypass my guy and go direct to his source(he's not interested in nickel and dime stuff) and have also found Emgo version of this fairing but they are flimsy and would only suit a small bike (I would think speeds above 60mph might cause flutter).Might try one for the heck of it! Will post results on this as well as anything he has that might be of interest.
