A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

oil cooler for 1100gl?

The oil cooler set up is basically the same for all the 8V engines – plain bearing 650 excluded. I built an adaptor and installed an Earl’s cooler on my 850. What kind of information are you interested in?

I have only worked with the 16v engines which have the oil galleries for the coolers. I guess these motors are like the 750s and need the filter cover drilled and modified for oil lines?
I dude asked me if he could install a cooler on his bike and I said I would look into it.

It’s easier to just purchase an adaptor, or make one from scratch, as opposed to trying to modify the stock oil pressure sensor cover. Trust me, I tried.

BassCliff has a tutorial sheet I put together on how to make your own adaptor. If you don’t want to go though the exercise, there is a guy named Terry (from Oz) that sells prebuilt adaptors for about $100 USD. Search the archives here for lots more info on the subject or drop me a PM if I can be of any help.

Good luck.

Yeh, know about Terry.

Don't want to run the lines back behind the engine. Looking for the route from the filter cover.

I don't think it can be done. Even Yoshimura from back in the day picked up the oil from the main galley feed under the oil pressure switch.

that's why I am not selling him this one.

The 8v engines have a different oiling system, the oil coolers lines can not be plumbed like a 16V engine.

I?ve seen 8V engines using the filter cover as the oil takeoff, but the return needs to go back in at the back of the engine.
