DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

damn wingsconsin that is one pretty bike .. I love those chrome fenders but I have a question .. how did you get the tranny cover so shinny! I tried some bllue magic on a rag with elbow grease and it cleaned it but it is still all mottled.

I am flirting with someone local who has a running registered bike but I am not really a fairing guy but I imagine I can remove it .. I just think its a bit tattered for the price.

I was fortunate enough to spend a few days with my bike in pieces at Steve house a few years ago.
While he was holding the cover he tripped into a running polish wheel...(that happens to him a lot I've heard)
After I got it back together and home I have simply been polishing it with a Mothers Power Ball and some Mothers Polish

But thanks to Steve -- it was pretty clean already
But beware - if you are at Steves while he is polishing he will hand you the part to hold for him -- HOT !

SOoooooooo What do you think .. dont try and think what I think .. just your open and honest opinion ..

Leave the rack off

Have someone powder coat it Black

From the looks perspective the rack is awful and really detracts from the lines of the bike (IMO). From the utility perspective it can be very handy if you often carry things that don't easily fit in a tank bag or back pack. Only you can decide what is more important to you, but I don't think there is any question on the looks side of the equation.

While that is a rather attractive price for that bike, that is not really an attractive bike for that price. :-k

First of all, you don't see too many 4-into-1 pipes on a touring bike. Yes, I have one, but it's basically as quiet as stock. That one is a Kerker, and very few of them are worth listening to on a longer ride.

Second, that bike is missing the trunk. Besides being a convenient place to toss "stuff", it is the backrest for your passenger. Because that is an OEM Suzuki rack, you will not find anything ready-made that will fit it. If you want a backrest, it will have to be custom-made.

Third, please don't think for a minute that you are going to take that fairing off and take the bike for a ride. That is a multi-hour procedure that involves all of your lights, so you will need to find replacement lights to put on the bike while you have the fairing off.

Its got about 50,000 on the clock but I too noticed immediately the kerker. I have to admit .. now that I am older I like my nice quiet bike. It has its own unique sound but I do a lot of riding in "natury" kind of places and I would rather see the wildlife than be screeching along making a racket. I also live in a retirement community and taht kerker would bring unwanted attention from my neighbors and I wouldnt blame them. I am very happy with my stock exhaust.

Guy says OBO and I think maybe at $1300-$1500.00 it might be worth the effort since its at least running but I would already be $400ish behind on new headers and mufflers. I am very handy with leather and wouldn't mind just getting a bike with a slightly larger engine and outfitting it with leather bags and trunk. I like the naked gold wings but trying to find one without a million miles on it is tough.

So the search continues. Im not in a rush as I still want to do sprockets and chain on my 750 and there is only so much money to go around.
