DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ive read the forums until blue in the face and I cannot find the info Im looking for. Does anyone know if the paint codes for the gs850L are located on the bike some place. Cycle color.com does not list my bike and they do not return my emails. So they are out. My 850 is an 82, the black and gray one. There was an 1100L that came in the same color. Any help on this would be much appreciated. If someone knows the paint codes that would be awesome and thanks.

I'm interested as well. Mine's the same color and will be getting new paint this off-season.

Have you searched for them? I know I have posted (possible a new thread) referencing the color conversion charts.

Used to be some charts I had posted a long time ago. Was from some German source..head stock printed in German..ring a bell to anyone???

I had a company in the UK respond to an email, they wanted a photo so I sent them one. Never heard back from them. Ive googled the hell out of it and everyone that supposedly has 10s of thousands of colors does not list a gs850gl in their model listing. The only color they come up with for a gs850 is some sort of red. Im at a loss here. I have a pro that will paint it if I can give him the paint codes. Its frustrating for sure. Love my bike by the way, she's awesome! I fear I may have to custom paint it and I do not want to have to do that. Thanks for your input everyone.

Yes, I subscribed to that thread, but the current view of my Subscriptions is not helping me out...

From Alpha Sports website, it looks like the color codes are 019 Space Black and 12R Tight Silver Metallic. Does anyone know this for sure?

OK, I just tried a direct link to the color chart, too, and was also unsuccessfull.

How about a screen shot?

Thanks much Steve I see the black and silver combo listed, that has to be the one.

Thanks to a few hints from previous posters in this thread, it wasn't all that hard to come up with.

Visit any of the online vendors, open up the parts fiche pages, go to the year/model bike you are interested in, look at the "Fuel Tank" fiche to see what was available that year, then look on the "Color Chart" fiche to see all the codes, along with the colors.

You might have to do a little digging to find out what the accent color is, but the combinations are listed at the bottom of that page, to make it a bit easier.

So what do you do once you know the color code? Are there formula's available for modern basecoat to match these colors?

I told bill last night , once I had the color codes of the other manufacturer and my paint supplier could not do anything with it and still just mixed based on a painted side cover.
