I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I would like to paint my tank badges. I was going to sand down then spray them with the 2k paint I used on my tank. Satin black. Then paint in the center of the letters with red enamel model paint. Good idea or not?

It would look like this but all of the letters of course.

I think it'll look cool! I still need to do my 450's badges, but keep putting it off...

looks good to me mate ! would look better if you polished up the raised area of the letters and clear coated the whole badge

That would suit your bike really well I reckon... go for it! Love that scheme on your bike...

Here is what I did. you can paint the center lines yourself.
Satin Silver base.

Satin Black second stage.

Finshed them off with some R type red. LOL

Here is what I came up with. I did the center lines but it didn't look right.

I think off-setting either one of those with the opposite color down the middle stripe in each letter will make them look even sharper.

Scott, I agree whole heartedly with you, a contrasting colour down the center line will really make them "pop" as y'all say, iv fact the same colour as the tank down the center line would be the best, it would give the effect of two letters sitting close together.
But that said, it will be near impossible to get the colour uniform and dead straight down that line by hand.
But I would give it a try.

Yep, definitely needs something else and the black in the middle would be spot on...

If you can mask off the red with some good quality fine line masking tape it should be doable but I don't envy you the task...

did you do that on MSpaint??

2 ways i would tackle this. but first make sure that red is completely dry!
1. with a very fine brush pain the lines in, not worrying to much if you go over the edge.wipe off any black paint that goes onto the red letter with a fine cloth and a dab of white spirits.2 or 3 fine coats so the paint doesnt go onto thick and make it harder to wipe off.
2. 2" masking tape right across the letters. push down hard into the centre lines you want to paint black to give a good definitive indent of the lines.use a scalpel or a very sharp modellers knife and trim away the tape covering the lines. paint away, allow to dry, remove tape and clean up/ touch up as required.
if you are going to clear coat them afterwards then you could run some fine wet and dry over the letters to give a good crisp edge on them. when you clear coat them the red will become nice and shiney again

I think I will try the masking tape idea. Would you just use the same black I used on the other part? BTW its the same paint I used on my tank and side covers. And I do have some 2k clear coat around I could use. Maybe 2000 on the letters?
