If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi...Long time no talk.

I need a new rear tire for my bike. It looks like I MIGHT not find it. I'm severely bummed out.
Can anyone out there in GS land help me??

I need a Metzler / ME-1 / 160/70 17.

Someone said "Fox" is the only distributor now.
I wonder if they stopped making that size ??

What's a girl to do????

It calls for a 130/90/17 Their are other tires in that size
You could try the Metzeler Lasertec a bit $$ available in 160/70, or
ME Z4,

Using their dealerlocator (through the parts-unlimited website) I found a few places that should be near you.

I customized my bike and the tire on it now (which is the SAME tire I'd like). is a 160/70 17. I have an ME1 on the back and a ME33 on the front. I'm wondering which tread would go best with the ME33 (the front tire is in excellent shape). Also. that tire JUST clears the swingarm and stuff...

I let someone take my bike for a ride (MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!),
THEY PICKED UP A PASSANGER AND THE BIKE WAS TOO LOW FOR ALL THE WEIGHT. IT ATE A BIG RING (bite) OUT OF THE REAR TIRE ON THE RIGHT SIDE. I checked for more damage but didn't see anything....
Heck I've got a poker run on June 12th....I WANNA GO........... 8O

Thanks for the help everyone.
The website was very helpful also...
I had a friend come over with a JP Catalogue and I found the comparable
tire. Seems to be the ME 880. Another friend who's a mcy parts expert Bob came also and we all three agreed. It is offered in the size I need (Belted) as I have a ME 33 on the front. I'll order it Monday, when the serious parts guys are working the phones at JP.

thanks again

I ordered a tire from JP Cylces today. It's in stock and they said it would be here in 7 to 10 days, via mail. I hope they're right. I want to go on a poker run June 12th...

If the tire grinds with two up it might also grind riding solo if you hit a big bump. Still not good, especially at the prices they get for tires these days....

3I bet the combined weight of the two up (that ruined the tire) is over 400 lbs...well over. My 130 lb. body will be OK. It always has been in the past and I've put it together about 7-8 years ago.

Thanks though !!!

Hmmmm Pmint, so you got your 130 lb body refurbished 7-8 years ago huh? May I ask what parts you had updated. :-)
