A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I had a girl from a local but more rural area tho who contacted me through a social networking website. She asked me what kind of bikes I like. I replied that I like lots of different bikes but am more into cafe racers and cruisers. She replied "Oh, I like sportbikes. Too bad, we could have ridden together next year" and I thought WTF? None of my Harley friends give me that attitude! It was the first time any one gave me any attitude about bike type. She didn't care that I have Suzuki and a Yamaha.

Attitudes are everywhere, and anyone of any style can have them!

Oh wow, I've told people the same thing (or nearly...)! I didn't mean that I was too cool to ride with them or anything, it's just a dfiferent kind of ride when I go sportbiking! Cruisers and whatnot just won't be able to keep up, and I wouldn't think it would be fun for them!

Gee, I guess a bunch of people must think I'm a jerk! I certainly like to ride with cruisers or whoever when I'm on my Kat or something though!

Its quite simple actually. Anyone that rides less than 30K per year is a poser.

E. :-)

Um...I don't put 30K on the truck, the car, and the bike combined...we may want to take a poll and figure out a good mileage number.

I ride everyday I don't have to worry about snow or ice.

Well, in her case, she knows I'm brand new to riding, so even if I had some screaming crotch rocket, I still wouldn't be in any shape to keep up, although she's only been riding for a year I think. Since I never heard from her again, I think it's more that she has a snobby attitude. Lots of little cafe racers could keep up with a Ninja 250!

Most real cafe racers could more than keep up! Their #1 job was to ton up as fast a mechanically possible. Keeping up shouldn't be an issue!

Let me see.....18 races last summer...say an average of 5 runs a races thats.....90 runs in one year...1/4 mile to the finish and 1/8 mile shut down...3/4 of a mile per run, (not counting the tow back to the pits) means I rode under power about 67.5 miles last year...
Maybe another 10 on the pit scooter....

Dang it....poser:cry:

I walked more than 67.5 miles last year!
I've got a pretty quick 0-3mph time too!! :-)

Yeah if my buddy ever finishes that TX500 for me, it will be a fast little bike. He's already done some things to lighten it up a bit... can't imagine it or anything like it not being able to keep up with a 250 unless it has a new rider on it :-D Maybe she thinks we'd look funny out riding together... pretty silly if you ask me...

I'm a big poseur.

I rode every day last summer since I got my licence. Back and forth to work. No long trips, and still put on 6000km.

Oh, hehe, I guess I wouldn't really consider a Ninja 250 a sportbike. Sportbikes (four stroke anyways) start at 600ccs, for me.

O.K. What's the difference?

Simple, a biker is the guy/gal who goes out on weekends and either bar hops with his buddies, or terrorizes the urban streets by doing wheelies or passing cars on the right on two lane roads.

A motorcyclist is the guy/gal who rides for the sheer pleasure of it. Whether it be for the simple commute to work in the freezing temps of winter, or being in search of that "perfect" road.

Myself, I'm a motorcyclist. Nothing compares to the looks you get when you're out cruising around town in 20 degree weather.:-D

As an aside, the temps have been waaaay above normal for this time of year and I've not seen, or heard, any bikes as of late.

And for the HD dude that started this thread, you probably ran across him and the only friend that can tolerate him. Pretty sad when you carry around pics of a rebuild. I guess you were supposed to be impressed.

Oh, and I own and wear a pair of a$$less chaps. They're awfull comfy in the cold. Does that change my status?

I thought that was a squid.

That converts to 3728.4 miles. I think I like km's better. Sounds a heck of a lot more impressive. \\:D/

She may have actually referred to her 250 as a crotch rocket... poseur, or pen!s envy? You decide...

I get 3750 miles. 1.6km / M.

I wear assless chaps too, but they're pronounced, "shaps".

Poseurs call them "chaps".
