A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

That's a good looking cruiser. Are you thinking of replacing the tires soon? From the picture they look pretty old. It's not good to ride around on old tires, doesn't matter how much tread they have left.

Thanks for sharing Mr. buckeyemike. Keep us informed of your progress.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Looks to be installed correctly from what I can see. Maybe post a photo of the rear mounts. It looks like a NC Plexi II. I have one and it has a better mounting system than the Slipstreamer IMO. I did cut some of the bottom mounting pins off and lowered mine as much as possible to cut back on the wind resistance. I am about 5'-9" and prefer to look over the shield than through it. I cannot tell from the picture but you might want to rake the angle back to even with the fork angle or more if you can. In my signature line the 1100 has the fairing at the slightly forward rake angle the PO put it at. I got a headshake at 95+ MPH one day so after I changed my shorts I have since raked it back as much as possible and no more headshake. I agree with BassCliff, those tires have got to go even if they have a lot of tread left. Before I became "educated" on this forum I had a few sets of the Quailfiers and they are a lousy tire for traction, rain and cornering compared to the modern tread design tires. Do a search and you will find lots of options and opinions. Chen Sin Hi -Max, Avon Roadriders, Pirelli Sport Demons, and Dunlop Elite III are all good tires in order of cost. The Elite III's are supposed to last the longest of the above bunch and I have a new set I am testing on my 1100 with about 3000 miles on them and I have had them leaned over to the edge of the tread, out in the rain and like them a lot. Great tire IMO.
